Way to go boys, lets just win out the rest of the way and stay in mediocrity. Yea, 3 wins in a row .. insert finger in cheek and pop! - jd250
So if you’re the coach you tell the team to lay down ? |

Yea, we see this all the time this time of the year. Average to bad teams just free wheeling when the pressure is off and the season is cooked. Study Leafs under Ron Wilson before they finally decided to tank, and picked up Marner & Matthews. |

As long as John Tortorella is your coach, the pressure is NEVER off. |

Detroit should be interested, his save % against them this year was something like 97%. |

These guys are professional athletes, so you’re gonna tell the starting goalie he’s done for the year cause you wanna lose. What kind of message is that ? |

Back in the day Pens and Devils threw the kitchen sink for Mario. But i guess it's no super Mario's in this draft. - THE EVIL WITHIN Ummm, back in the day you could tank and guarantee yourself the #1 pick. With the lottery that no longer applies. The bottom team has an 18 percent chance of getting the #1 pick if my memory serves me correctly. Your argument fails miserably in this case.

Yeah, I used to believe this too, but every karmic boost we've gotten seems to be negative. He needs to further meditate on this. |

It will come down to the ping pong balls….so who knows? I would rather they finish 8th worse than 6th worse if it means a few of these young guys are the ones that are actually figuring this out and leading this team. I do like how Torts is using the young guys in all the key positions and situations. This year, although brutal yet again, has uncovered 4 or 5 guys that I really wasn’t sure in October, that are going to be good pro’s. I still think they will get a very good or at least have the chance to draft a very good future piece regardless of the last few weeks. - landros 2 Exactly!

Yes indeed! There's no way we will be gifted with the lottery so might as well let the kids do their thing and let them develop. I missed today's game but great to see the results. I doubt Bellows will be a major star, but would like to see him get more minutes. At this point, we need to see how the kids play and develop.

It's a serious concern with him as others have mentioned on here. |

The hockey gods already shined down upon the flyers…the problem is our dictator at the time drafted a bust and now all we have to show for it is a 6 mill ltir spot on our cap.
I would like to hear someone, anyone really explain how they should have tanked. If you watch this team every game, you would know they have been carried by their young guys of late. A trunk tank would have meant you trade; Hart, York, Tippett, Frost (this summer) and Foerster must not be called up. Is that what you wanted to do for an 18% chance of Bedard?
Also goalies have almost 0 value, so unless one of our goalie prospects turns out, we would have been right back to endless complaints in a few years on why can’t the flyers develop a goalie and a dman for that matter.
Did you want to trade those young guys before the year? |

What’s more likely getting the # 1 pick, or drafting 8th and coming away with yet another (frank)ing stiff? |

Hey good thing they sent foerster and zamula down just as they were starting to get comfortable and figure things out. I forgot every legitimate prospect needs to experience the epic quest of chasing that Calder cup! |

It's up to the GM to put the team in position to tank. Mistake #1 was hiring Torts. Once you made that hire you were playing for more mediocrity and not a draft slot. IMO it is dumb. What difference does it make if team gets 75 points this yr over 55. Those saying this late season winning is good for next year have short memories. How many times has this team done that only to suck next yr. Only was to expedite getting out of mediocrity is to get high end talent. In the draft it is usually at the very top |
