Decent bounce back game after a bad weekend, and two big points. I just hope they don't regret those last two games when this is all said and done. Things got a bit dicey in the third tonight, but the difference was Sorokin was way sharper than Vanecek, who was leaving rebounds all over the place.

Agree, great bounce back game. Gotta forget the loses and move on and win.

I thought my summary kinda inferred that

It did. I was just making it extra clear for Upstate.

At this point, I think the only thing that might cost us is 7th. Which…would suck. Boston is not a team to be (frank)ed with this season. The only good thing is you’re completely playing with house money at that point but 8th place, to me, is an instant knockout. I don’t buy that President’s Trophy curse with that team.

Probably not but if we get stuck with the last wild card I like our chances better then the other WC teams. When you have Sorokin you never know… I also think this team may get a huge boost if and when Barzal comes back. At the very least it should get Horvat back to scoring.

Someone has to want him for that to happen. And they really can't afford to be including assets to entice someone into taking him.

Place him on waivers and send him to Bridgeport.

I for the most part agree on the D but I thought Romanov had a good game and Bolduc was pretty steady back there. Pulock was pretty bad again imo. Amazing how his game has fallen off a cliff this season.

How is the PP rated any higher than an F?

It’s so bad. We’ve only given up 6 SHG this year which is middle of the pack(ish). Color me shocked by that I thought we’d be higher in that negative category. I get not having the offensive talent but the indecisiveness on the PP is something that should be able to get fixed. At least you think it would be.

We've been talking about how bad the pp has been for years now. The coaches have changed but the guys on the ice have largely remained the same. It's the players fault. If you want to say there isn't enough "skill" out there, they should go to an old school set up and get shots from the point and look for rebounds. Dobson, btw, has ALSO fallen off a cliff. Where is the offensive dman we saw the first half of the season? He now looks unsure at the point on the pp.

Agreed on Dobson. The kid has some good numbers this season in relation to the PP and 5 on 5. I can say that while also acknowledging he slows the PP down so much to the point it looks intentional. I’m not sure whether it’s indecisiveness or part of the plan. The latter makes zero sense to me and is to me at least what the problem is with their PP.

Isles are playing a much more defensive structure than they did the first half. That has certainly taken the offensive freedom out of Dobson’s game. I think not having Barzal transporting the puck puts a lot of pressure on him for entries on the pp. the whole pp to a man has suffered since Barzal went down. Shame really because when Horvat was thrown in the mix on the pp it was clicking and producing for a change.

I'd take that matchup, honestly.
Not that I would expect to win it but I dont really expect anyone else to beat them either. If they did somehow manage to win that one, I think it would be such a massive confidence boost that it could springboard them all the way through.
Unfortunately, at this stage I have serious doubts that we'll see Barzal back by round one so it may not make a difference. That said, we've always got a chance with Sorokin

Isles have a better chance then most as they play a tighter style and check well in playoffs, rags and leafs don't

Hickey on Sorokin making a save with a Devil on top of him: "Pretty good for a guy getting a lap dance, right?"
Butch : "and it was free of charge"

I caught that last night. Gotta love Butch. And Hickey fits in pretty well too.
