You don't pay a premium, albeit not a huge one, for a guy like that just to let him walk, especially after we heard the coach pull so hard for him. While I don't like the move as a whole, he hasn't looked healthy since he got here, and I think the Sabres know that.

Was saying back on Friday. Suggesting he might be done for the season.

Sick of hearing about his leadership and the Vibes he brings. Sabres have better players coming through there system. It's time to take this team to the next faze of the rebuild.
- Buff36

we only have one poster talking good about the guy

and the sabres store donates most of his jerseys to countries in the third world

if anyone wanted to have an honest conversation on the guy

I’d like him healthy and playing the last 9 games and if it still looks as bad as it does they should move on.

Next year and beyond is all about winning as much as possible. Nothing else.

But they won’t do that

Good morning from Sabres practice.

Sudbury Wolves forward Quentin Musty finishes just one point back of Owen Sound's Colby Barlow for the #OHL scoring lead among #NHLDraft eligibles, with 78 points in 53 games. Leads the class in points per game at 1.47 and total assists with 52.

Musty's 78 points place him fourth all-time among 17-year-olds wearing a Wolves jersey, after Pat Verbeek (88), Derek MacKenzie (87) and Quinton Byfield (82). Ron Duguay posted identical totals of 26G and 52A, but in 11 more games. #ohl

This doesn't make sense to me.

Second thing, if they can get Tom Wilson, that'd be a massive W. I can't really think of anyone else in that mold who's remotely available. The Tkachuks clearly aren't. Gudas? I'm just thinking offense right now. But Gudas would be a great add. Acciari, another great 4th line option. Lawson Crouse? Brandon Tanev?

Maybe Weeger is made available. I'd fill my shorts.

Swagger would prevent tightening up when the pressure gets turned up.

Cozens and the entire team (even coaching?) tightened up when they knew the games meant something.

Edit:

When you see a less talented player working harder than you, enjoying the game, earning respect in the locker room - and you build trust with the tough guy - the skilled guys play more relaxed knowing their protected

Tony Ferrari - The Hockey News - Dec. 19th: "Musty has a wicked shot, but it hasn’t been what he has made his living on while racking up points this season. His playmaking ability has exploded this season as he has finally taken the next step as an offensive creator, using his teammates at a level he previously seemed disinterested in."

I like Musty. Pick him and get Asplund and Cliff Pu back to form the musty a$$ poo line. I can hear it now, "that line really likes to grind it out in the dirty areas".

Really, though, I like Musty.

Boss is gonna come in Hot and Heavy after he realizes everyone was right and you could replace Girgensons for 850,000
- Buff36

Girgensons has been fine.

I'd love for rousek to join this team next season.

1 game and less than 10 minutes of ice time, he's 100% a keeper.

Wish we would have traded for chryrun though.
Talk about hot and heavy.

I think Tom Wilson is who they were after when they eventually settled for Greenway. This is based on nothing but a hunch.
- SoCalPucks

Ask your hunch, who trades tom wilson and why?

Why would the caps trade the guy everyone wants?

It would have to be an eichel type deal.

trade up to pick him 14th overall

has not scored 20 points in a season since 14-15

steered them to 10 straight nhl lottery picks, probably an nhl record for assisting 1 team to most lottery picks

"leader" of a team that had an epic collapse for the last 2 months

would be our worst pick of the decade if not for drafting nylander and grigorenko

Season on the line and for the eighth game this year the bìtches can't muster up a win againt an NHL bottom-feeder.

Pathetic.

Trash for leadership on this team. Shame Okposo didn't get one punched again this year so we wouldn't have to see him polluting a Sabres jersey anymore. Get this fùcking washed-up bum out of here. Don't let him pay the team the vet minimum to play next season. I'd rather see anyone than that bum. How the hell is he a team captain? Didn't we have enough of washed-up hasbeens as the C with Rivet? Should have shipped his ass out for a decent janitor at the arena on dealine day. Should have thrown in fall down boy for a mop & bucket for the janitor. Has Girgensons gotten into a fight this decade? What does he get paid to do...lead the worst PK in the league?

He got hurt on a slew foot from Hedman, it's not like he was skating down the ice and it happened. It was sh!tty play.
