burn that cap space on bryson comrie and bishop instead of going after georgiev or gavrikov
good post - homiedclown
Gavrikov would scare away the next Bobby Orr in Ryan Johnson |

It’s wild that not making the playoffs can be argued as a good thing, 12 years of losing will do that I guess. - washedup20
New Jersey hasn’t made the playoffs the last 5 years, how many teams are set up better this year and beyond then them ? |

Stop shinning that Bobblehead, if the Sabres were as respected by players as you seem to think a College goalie wouldn't be holding Adams Balls in his hand controlling the situation, same as Johnson. - Buff36
The Sabres aren't respected, that's exactly why they had to rotate 3 terrible goalies all season and leave the spot open for levi.
You answered your own question.
What would you have done?
Remember nobody (free agents or nmc players) don't respect us either...

Bryson is 1.85m and is for one more year - who the hell cares, (a) he was very good last year (sucks this year), (b) we have more cap space than virtually any other team next year and (c) it’s only 1.85m and goes away - turbo044
Homie cares
The bryson deal keeps him up at night.
Bryson deal > tage deal > cozens deal.

They are a young team, they shouldn’t make the playoffs, it’s better I think, they might not even win a series, so what’s the point? |

Yet as a fan you are happier than ever. You must’ve just started paying attention when Terry bought the team.
Next year is the first year of Pegula owned Sabres where they actually are expected not to go into a season to lose. |

So yeah injuries prone players tend to stay injury prone.

Not my ? again, it's a ? you should be asking your Buddy. Plenty of players that don't have NMC. And stop with the Goalie crap, there were plenty of Goalie's that moved or were signed the last couple years, especially last summer as he waited on Ullmark. |

Unbelievably bad management. This organization ran out of getting the benefit of the doubt 6 years ago. This year they were slow to recognize the progress their core players had made. Adams failed to pull off a trade that was of greater impact. And again, to those of you still clinging to the narrative that Adams plan was to sit on his prospects…We know that’s not true. We know he was trying to acquire an impactful player and couldn’t/didn’t. So the guy you’re praising for sticking to his guns actually also disagreed with you ffs. You know it’s bad when the loser mentality infects your fan base.

It's a shame the guy got hurt on a slew foot, who knows if it happens against Buffalo if we had acquired him. |

This season absolutely met and exceeded my expectations.
Why so down on your hometown team?
You're acting like we lost all 12 years this past season.

Disagree ,but willing to move on before it gets ugly 🤝
Sabres are surely on every players no trade list. We're the reason why they pick 10 teams.
Getting any goalie is one thing.
Getting a top 16 type playoff goalie with little term and wanted to play here is asking a lot IMO |

Pretty sure everyone here loves their hometown team, they’re quite justifiably done with all of the excuses. Also, nothing fundamentally changes from the trade deadline to the start of next season. They’re still going to be looking to deal for some key pieces with the exact same pool of picks and prospects.

It was very imperative that he got both signed, but it also shows how weak there position was in both cases. Especially when your system is very weak in both areas - Buff36
Their position was very weak since the organization sucked from Darcy through the 2/3
point of the '20-21 season. No doubt about it. They had watched Cal Peterson bolt and received notice that Portilo was at high risk of doing the same, which he eventually did.
They could not afford to watch another 2 higher caliber players choose the same path. It would have been a disaster, and they chose to mitigate that disaster the best way they could. The FO worked hard before that to rid the organization of the negative discontents and turn the culture around. They could not risk more negative "vibes" to enter the equation.
KA and team reportedly tried to acquire a starting G several times and were turned down by players who did not want to be here. They switched to Plan B in Comrie and he gets injured, forcing them to bring in an underdeveloped young G in UPL who struggled like they thought he might given that they chose to send him down to Roch for the year.
I'm not sure what you wanted them to do about it? I not even sure what the hell everyone is so pissed off about it, looks like they may have won in both senarios. |

I do believe that he tried to get a better goalie. I’m willing to give him a pass on that for sure. I’m pretty sure Comrie was plan C at best.

Yes. The argument that since he got hurt playing against Tampa while playing for Ottawa means that he would have gotten hurt playing for Buffalo is completely asinine. I am sympathetic to the better argument that he may just be injury prone.

Good Post! I applaud Adams for trying, but it still doesn't excuse him with getting caught with his paints down with Ullmark and watching what maybe 5 or 6 Goalies switch teams. |
