Unbelievably bad management. This organization ran out of getting the benefit of the doubt 6 years ago. This year they were slow to recognize the progress their core players had made. Adams failed to pull off a trade that was of greater impact. And again, to those of you still clinging to the narrative that Adams plan was to sit on his prospects…We know that’s not true. We know he was trying to acquire an impactful player and couldn’t/didn’t. So the guy you’re praising for sticking to his guns actually also disagreed with you ffs. You know it’s bad when the loser mentality infects your fan base.

Which prospects was he offering up?
I didn't see that.

Yes. The argument that since he got hurt playing against Tampa while playing for Ottawa means that he would have gotten hurt playing for Buffalo is completely asinine. I am sympathetic to the better argument that he may just be injury prone.

He is, unlucky in that aspect to!!

Is it a coincidence that Kim is not fit for the role of President?
Fvck, waitress couldn't even keep the jalapeño dish full.

It's a shame the guy got hurt on a slew foot, who knows if it happens against Buffalo if we had acquired him.
- Buff36

Chickenman definitely goes down early and often.

The guy is injury prone......

Think samuelsson, regardless of what uniform he wears, his ability to stay healthy is a negative.

Pretty sure everyone here loves their hometown team, they’re quite justifiably done with all of the excuses. Also, nothing fundamentally changes from the trade deadline to the start of next season. They’re still going to be looking to deal for some key pieces with the exact same pool of picks and prospects.

Lots of crybabies. Grown men 😭

The future is very bright, we didnt lose 12 straight seasons since October 22

I’m not sure how we’re supposed to know that. What we do know is that he was making inquiries, and before the deadline Gerbe popped in and said we were going to like what was going to happen, and the after the deadline came back and said we had to go a different direction.

I’ll remember this the next time you complain about whoever the next Reinhart is, and then you’ll tell me why when you complain it’s not “crying”. I’m also not sure why crying about others crying isn’t also crying. You bring solid hockey arguments but your penchant for getting personal detracts from that.

Their position was very weak since the organization sucked from Darcy through the 2/3
point of the '20-21 season. No doubt about it. They had watched Cal Peterson bolt and received notice that Portilo was at high risk of doing the same, which he eventually did.

They could not afford to watch another 2 higher caliber players choose the same path. It would have been a disaster, and they chose to mitigate that disaster the best way they could. The FO worked hard before that to rid the organization of the negative discontents and turn the culture around. They could not risk more negative "vibes" to enter the equation.

KA and team reportedly tried to acquire a starting G several times and were turned down by players who did not want to be here. They switched to Plan B in Comrie and he gets injured, forcing them to bring in an underdeveloped young G in UPL who struggled like they thought he might given that they chose to send him down to Roch for the year.

I'm not sure what you wanted them to do about it? I not even sure what the hell everyone is so pissed off about it, looks like they may have won in both senarios.

Good Post! I applaud Adams for trying, but it still doesn't excuse him with getting caught with his paints down with Ullmark and watching what maybe 5 or 6 Goalies switch teams.
- Buff36

Ullmark was a rather unfortunate and hopefully a learning situation for Adams, no doubt. He gave Ullmark way too much control in the form of time, which he used to then negotiate with the Bruins. Another guy who didn't want to be here.

The more we discuss it, the more clear it becomes that Adams did infact learn from it by virtue of riding the negative discontent, turning inward to buy time to redefine the franchise and make it more attractive to outside players. I think that portion of his plan has worked very well in that the team should be pretty attractive to the few FA's they may approach this offseason.

The Matt Murray brush off was apparently centered around Murray's distaste for Mike Bales...who knew that would happen? I'm not a fan of Bales, wish they would move on before he gets his mitts on Levi.

I mean…by the definition you’re applying, so do you and everyone else here.

Boss is now staking the claim that he will never be critical of anything from now on. All sunshine and rainbows going forward. He will not “cry” about the Sabres, Reinhart, or other posters “crying”. This is the hill he dies on. Hold him to it.

It was also reported that Buffalo's offer was Player based, not so much Prospects.
So, did he really try to deal Prospects and therefore lie about wanting to keep them?
Doesn't seem like it to me, but I could be wrong.

I hope so, cause it only benefits Adams in future negotiations. Think Dahlin will tell a lot about the future and what he thinks of it, by signing a extension this Summer. If he balks and goes into his Arbitration years could mean things aren't as Viby in Buffalo.

I mean the claim was made that somehow Arizona wasn’t willing to accept a trade from the Sabres unless Savoie was included, but was willing to accept a much lesser trade from Ottawa because reasons. I for one find it difficult to believe that an NHL GM wouldn’t just take the best trade available. I liked Chicken man, but I would have been just as happy with some other option for the record.

So, the whole Dahlin might not sign cause he is getting to tired of losing is one of the biggest fabricated stories. Pacha was going off hard in this direction 2 seasons ago. Since then, Dahlin has communicated several times about how much he loves it here. If he needs to see The Plan from Adams to confirm what appears to be a rather straight forward direction, we'll good on him I guess. But, just put you signature on this document here that pays you $10m to play with and lead this band of brothers as you call it Rasmus for the next 8 years.

Every team will pay him $10 million, what does the next 8 years look like for Buffalo vs the rest of the league?

Adams is elite from what I’ve read today so he has this figured out

I’m worried about Dahlin until he puts pen to paper. How about Power? Forget bridge deals, lock that kid up ASAP.

I heard AZ wanted picks as the timeline fits better with their plan to reduce costs while they play in a 5,000 seat college arena. They wanted Picks. Sabres offered Players and lesser Prospects.
AZ is playing a timing game to emerge as a young team with a poop ton of Prosects from the next couple of drafts when their building is ready.
Look at their CapFriendly page for the army of draft selections they have amassed.

It strains credulity that somehow we wouldn’t offer picks. My god our core is locked up, and we have more prospects than we can ever use. Also prospects like Ostlund and Rosen won’t see the NHL for 2 years. How does that not fit their timeline?

It's part of my 5 point plan for the offseason.
Draft Reibacher
Sign Dahl8n long term
Lock up Power
Acquire a Vet Goalie to mentor Levi
Trade for a Top4 RhD

Those 5 move the franchise forward in a big big way. It also assumes Johnson is here in another couple days.
