His drafts aren’t perfect, but hard to argue with the results so far.

He did well in the Risto, Eichel, and Reinhart returns.

The fact they had the stones to give Tage the money they did shows an organization that’s forward thinking and proactive.

I get being mad at them for sitting on their hands this year, but I have faith that when they do push the chips to the table, they will know what they are doing cause I haven’t seen anything to suggest that they can’t identify talent.

Curious how people will feel if they don't push their chips to the table until after the 24-25 season, as I can see them waiting until then.

Could be.

I don’t see why next year can’t be their “break the drought year” though.

Yeah, you made an excellent post about me making it personal. Like you were better then me, for avoiding the childish side of our discussions.

Less then 24 hours later, you go after another posters wife.

My opinion of you, which I generally respected

Sunk.

Large hypocrite move.

You're definitely better then this... me maybe not.....

It’s hilarious that the guy saying this is the guy who openly admits All he does on this site is troll people and then comes up with nicknames that are even immature for my five-year-old niece and nephew.

It seems everyone else can actually hold a good differing view conversation except for one person on this site.

I'm not addressing anyone's wife or responding any of your trolling. Makes me sick.

You dug the hole, tough for a guy of your stature, to stoop this low.

I will say this, go root for another team.

Where are the savy analytics driven moves we thought we’d get when Ventura and co were added?

Stillman is a #6/7D tweener. Jost was off waivers and might not be brought back. Comrie was awful, Lyubushkin is a #6 on a good team. Hinostroza wasn’t able to be given away on 3 different occasions

The drafting looks good *so far*

It’s really not that hard to 1st overall picks like Power and top 10 picks like Quinn/Savoie.

Some others look good but it’s too early to tell

Tim Murray whiffed on 2 of his 3 top 10 picks. Sam > Leon and Nylander > literally anyone.

So yes, I give credit for Botts taking Cozens and Adams taking Quinn so far.

In addition, Stillman and Lybushkin have been a pretty good bottom pair. Hopefully Ryan Johnson adds further depth.

Mittelstadt’s emergence makes Jost expendable, all in all though, I thought Jost was a good waiver claim and I’d rather that than giving term and $$$$ to bottom 6 forwards.

Adams was signing Villie Husso over Eric Comrie away from breaking the drought this season, in a year where they have the youngest team in the league.

Power pick wa easy but choosing the right guy in the 9-13 range of the draft is tricky. He nailed Quinn and Cozens and most people on this board had other choices than them. He also seems to have nailed Savoie, Peterka and Kulich while Oslund looks very promising and Rosen looks good.

Botts picked Cozens, Quinn is almost certainly going to be an excellent pick, but the jury is still far from decided on the others.

Bottom line is like That Guy said, make the playoffs now. Everything else means nothing

So were Lafreniere, Kakko, Patrick, Drouin and the list goes on and on.

If Power continues on the trajectory he’s on then it’s “anybody could have made the pick” but if Beniers or anyone else goes on to have a better career then what ?

I’m not sure what you mean here?

Power was a good pick. He was the all but consensus #1.

It’s hard to criticize Adams if he ends up not being the ultimate best player

If he would’ve went Beniers at the pick and Power went on to be better then that’s different

The result of the "best season in 15 years" is that the team finally stepped over a bar that has only been 6 inches off the ground for 15 years.

Really.

The Sabres have been out of the first round more recently than the Leafs and they're on 12 straight seasons without the playoffs.

Ravens signed Odell Beckham Jr., formerly of the Rams, to a one-year contract worth "up to" $18 million with $15 million in guarantees.
