It leaves them $3,750 below the cap floor I read. Must be nice to have a rich owner that can afford to spend to the cap.

Edit: Sorry I am having a bad day and this pissed me off.

When things aren't going well, you should get the ball to your best players as much as possible. The Bills continued to try to spread the ball around despite getting manhandled, which was weird considering there were games earlier in the season where they just fed Diggs as much as they could. The bottom line is the Bills got punched in the mouth early and never could respond. Diggs' outburst on the sidelines when the game was essentially over is irrelevant. The only people that make a big deal about it are media looking for a story and the segment of a fanbase that doesn't really know or care about winning a championship.

Good post, completely agree.

Diggs is a superstar. Get him the ball.

I have diggs and andre reed as similar impact all time wrs for the bills

89 was upset, I disagreed. (Without any personal insults)

You still don't seem to understand that FA in hockey started almost 2 weeks before the trade for Levi even happened. So unless Adams had a F@cking Chrystal Ball he would not have been positive to even have a shot at Levi. I am beating the same drum I have since Adams got here. Defense, Goalie and getting them and Damn 3yrs later we finally might have atleast the Goalie part. And nothing I said was wrong about DK and Buffalo looking into him, actually a couple other hockey insiders said the same thing after I had posted it. Nice Try though!!
- Buff36

I think the real gm understood prior to the reinfart trade, that our potential phenom goalie would have a decision to make after his sophomore and junior year to go pro.

KA signed Anderson as a gap. Perfect timing for his age.

He sacrificed this season for levi.

Especially after losing other college free agents over the years. Portillo for example, vesey, pettersen....

We had a better then expected season and I'm pumped already for next years schedule.

2 ways to look at the Sabres future, glad they waited for levi

Maybe throwing the ball to a top 3 nfl ball catcher at home in a playoff elimination game, was the right thing to do.

Diggs doesnt bother me at all. He had a point IMO.

The Bills were also moving the ball well during the Hamlin game. That first game would have likely ended up as a track meet. At that point, who knows who makes a mistake if "that" doesn't happen?

The bottom line is, the Bills aren't likely going to win a championship by continuing to shore up the defense. In fact, the season with the most playoff success (2020) in the past 3 years was their worst defensive season statistically by a mile.

The 2023 season will likely depend on how much Ken Dorsey has grown up as a playcaller.

The Bills definitely should have got the ball to Diggs more.

It probably wouldn't have changed the overall result of the game.

Both statements can be true.

Another good post.

I went to the game, it was kinda over very early 14-0.

I rarely side with the player, but diggs has a point IMO.

He puts in the time off field.... get him the ball in a win or go home situation.

And yes, the defense was more of an issue. Thus the dc "retiring" for 1 year.

So before he even knew he was trading Rhino to Florida, he sat waiting on Ullmark to either sign or walk. And the goalies that moved in mid July weren't needed because he was gonna make a trade with Florida on what July 24th. He must see into the future then. Hopefully it's still working for this offseason.

The Bills downgraded at offensive coordinator last year, not necessarily because they hired Dorsey, whom I think is more than capable, but because they hired a first year playcaller. I think they believed Allen and their defense could make up for that.

Patrick Mahomes deserves all of the accolades he is getting and then some, but the number of absolute layups he got called for him this year was absolutely unreal. The Bills need to find ways to get those.

I think KA made a comfortable offer to ullmark, considering our current rebuild, $ and his injury history.

Didnt the Bruins match the offer , leaving the choice to the goalie?

He chose a top franchise over loserville.

Crying about ullmark 2 years later is definitely revisionist memories IMO

I think oline gets some help in the offseason.

Kromer beat up a minor a few offseasons ago, surprised he resurfaced.... and isnt getting re - fired.

the fact it was still an issue 18 months later though, does not bold well for a top 5 gm

Again you seem to miss the point. It's not about Ullmark. It's about what happened the 3 weeks prior to Buffalo even making the trade with Florida.

I believe that Adams believed Ullmark would re-sign here and basically threw all his chips in that basket. He got burned by not having much of a Plan B. That's completely on him.

I like what Levi has brought so far, but the Detroit game on Thursday proved that unless their defensive game improves dramatically, especially up front (something that doesn't get anywhere near the attention it should), anybody that puts the pads on for this franchise is in for a world of hurt.

Was it really an issue?

Levi wanted assurances, and got them.

He's 1A next year.

Kudos to KA for getting this guy into the organization and signed.

KA deserves credit, his plan went smoothly.....

And we had an excellent growing year

I'm seriously not understanding what your saying a out 3 weeks before?

Did KA wake up 1 day and make the levi trade without thinking out it?

Seems like opposite world....

Please explain better....

What is there to explain ? Sabres made the trade with Florida on July 24th. FA started later that year on July 10th, usually the 1st. Demko,Markstrom, Talbot, Anderson, Ullmark , Vanacek to name a few moved before that trade even Happened. Even if he knew the possibility of a trade already with Florida he sat on it for 2 weeks then before it went down. Seems like he might have been hoping for something better. And even if he wasn't you are telling me he basically threw the Organization in goalie Hell for 2yrs because of a Goalie that looked good at the WJC. He didn't play in school that year because of Broken Ribs, so he hadn't even broke records in College yet. Like I said I hope his Chrystal Ball keeps working.

What would you look to recieve in a trade for Olo?

Are you using Mitts/Joker in any trades this offseason?

Every year the Sabres have an alcoholic goaltender (a bored rich guy in Buffalo drinking too much, shocking), is Comrie the guy this year?
