skinner playing best season ppg level
tuch career year better than ppg level
dahlin almost ppg pace
cozens big leap
power showing he is the real deal
quinn, peterka and casey doing well

Is agree no excuses/moral victories going forward. Status quo won’t work. I’m in the minority that thinks we don’t need to signs other goalie, but we absolutely need 1 to 2 dman and maybe an upgrade at forward if Okposo, girgs and Oloffson are gone
- turbo044

I am with you, UPL would be a good goalie if given some support. What do you think of Zucker?

Your first statement is ridiculous.

Adams and co are so elite their plan this season to fail was close to compromised.

The bar your measuring from is based off of:

Tim Murray and Jason Botterill - you would have to go full moron everyday to be as bad as them.

Mediocrity is not winning. Minor improvements from 10 years of massive failure is not winning.

Win and I'll shut up - everything else is garbage.

Risto trade was a home run (Rosen, Gustav Karlsson, 2nd rounder in 2023)

Reinhart trade was a home run (Levi and Kulich)

Eichel trade is always a loss when you lose the franchise Center but the way Tuch is playing and the sum of the parts being Krebs, Ostlund, and Greenway (who has been great since coming back in the lineup) makes the trade pretty close to even.

Tage and Cozens extensions are both home runs.

Picking Quinn over who was on the board at 8 looks pretty shrewd so far.

Moving up for Peterka looks great.

Savoie at 9 looks like a home run.

And this isn't just about Adams, but a team shouldn't have to worry about blocking there prospects to sign them. If the Sabres weren't such a poorly run franchise the last 12trs years it probably isn't.
- Buff36

That's fair, grouping all 12 years together as a fan.

I'm not blaming KA for anything beyond his tenure.

Ok, so you shouldn't be allowed to enjoy levi as the goalie the next dozen years. This is like signing jim Kelly IMO.

Either your on board and understand or just dont get it.

Levi was worth the year of growth IMO.

Super fun season

They tried for 2 separate goalies, didnt work.

You wanted kuemper ...

From getting a proper goalie to getting grit via Greenway/Stillman to Chychrun, it seems they try a lot, but aren't successful very often outside the draft board, that's the problem. Enough trying, not enough doing.

All good moves, no doubt. He has some bad trades as well. They have drafted and accumulated too many similar players and have ignored a significant role for every winning hockey team to the point where the GM publicly acknowledged they get bullied.

They have a solid core, they knew that coming into this and failed to support the core. Knowing they entered the season planning to lose, failing to adjust plans when they should have was a big mistake.

The excuse that they wasted an NHL season for a college goalie and defenseman is wild to me. If they are that good then they will make space for them when the time comes.

If Adams is married to his prospects and doesn't make moves to fill the massive void in defense and toughness than he should be fired.

They're one of the youngest team in the nhl and way ahead of Schedule What
The team has done this year is pretty incredible.

Sure they have some issues to fix and that will likely be fixed in the summertime

Any ideas what those fixes entail?

Living a glass half empty to empty must be exhausting

Let’s see if Pegula lets adam make a couple key trades/signings this off-season

My glass half full attitude: it’s nice going into OT and specifically the shootout thinking your team will win cuz your new goalie won’t let you lose

I am not saying you shouldn't enjoy it Boss, cause we all should be. The point is they shouldn't have had to worry about making a trade because they were afraid to block someone. If the Sabres are a good functioning Franchise that prospect signs cause he wants that and to help keep that. Why come to the Sabres if you don't have to, especially how Sh!tty they have been and shown nothing that they can Function as a good Organization. That perception hopefully is changing with the Levi signing and Tage and Cozens extensions. Dahlin will be a huge sign as to the perception. If he doesn't sign a long term and instead starts his arbitration rights, that tells me he still doesn't believe in the direction of this Franchise.

That statement makes Rosen worthless for the Sabres who have major voids in the roster now, which Rosen will not be able to fill due to his style of play, even in a few years when he is ready.

Poor asset management, over valuing prospects is going to hurt Adams and co. attempt to build a winning NHL roster.

- washedup20

Yup.

Zegras over cozens. Lots on here was wishing we had dach instead of cozens that rookie year.

Rossi over quinn.
Trade Dahlin early last season.
Middlefat for a bag of pucks.
How could we possible choose ostlund so high. Wasted pick.
Samuelson never going to have the foot speed.
Thompson never will be good.
Thompson will never score 40 points
Thompson at best is a 2nd line center.

Yup they made mistakes. But a rookie gm and coach will do that. Overvaluing prospects are not one of them. Not even close

News to me. When was this?

We all would of been thrilled with that at any time before last season.

Maybe the horrible coaching of granato seen something and told bottom 5GM to keep him?

I'm not writing off greenway or stillman.

Greenway just earned a 2nd nhl contract with Minnesota, there's a good player possibly.

Stillman , the butt of most jokes and nepotism, has played well.

I just dont get it.

Chryrun is predictably injured , and may have blocked Ryan jo from signing here in buffalo.

These guys are making way more good moves then bad.

The big moves have been hits.... this is crazy talk.

Am I the only one that sees a powerhouse in the making?

How about having our 1 and 2 centers tied up for 7 years at value contracts.

That's way more important then a stillman trade for some toughness we all wanted 🤔

Good post, agreed on most.

I think you answered your own question a bit.

Years of failure forced our franchise to need to leave the net wide open for levi. Years of bad ownership and management.

Other teams wouldn't have done this or needed too

Levi is a jim Kelly moment to me. Now sign ry-jo Cornelius bennett. ☝️

Thats what im saying 36. There not perfect. Rookie gm and coach.

But they also make some incredibly decisions. But when someone says something positive about them then its Botts team.

The second we falter a little in a year of amazing growth, we want to dump coach and gm.
