Years of failure forced our franchise to need to leave the net wide open for levi. Years of bad ownership and management.

But they also make some incredibly decisions. But when someone says something positive about them then its Botts team.

I have never said that, and they have done some really good things, and they have kicked the can of a few other things. Botts will be brought up because some of this team is his. And they basically admitted sitting on there hands to get certain players signed, which is all fine and Dandy, but don't say it as your team probably could have made the playoffs with a couple more tweaks on Defense. That's bad business to a fan base that's already frustrated.

Risto trade was a home run (Rosen, Gustav Karlsson, 2nd rounder in 2023)

Reinhart trade was a home run (Levi and Kulich)

Eichel trade is always a loss when you lose the franchise Center but the way Tuch is playing and the sum of the parts being Krebs, Ostlund, and Greenway (who has been great since coming back in the lineup) makes the trade pretty close to even.

Tage and Cozens extensions are both home runs.

Picking Quinn over who was on the board at 8 looks pretty shrewd so far.

Moving up for Peterka looks great.

Savoie at 9 looks like a home run.

That's the thing though, they indeed did fold their tents in some very meaningful games from the Allstar Break forward. They were no-shows in many games against lesser opponents and were completely outclassed in other big games against playoff teams. And they won some against the same...consistently inconsistent.

Still, up til April 6th, they had a chance at PO's and were playing meaningful games.

Conversely, they may have been able to qualify for the PO's had the FO made a meaningful acquisition rather than 2 that are headscratchers.

There are two sides to the coin.
