Experience has taught me to assume the worst with this franchise. I still want them to do well, but am skeptical anytime I hear good news/accept bad news as fact pretty readily.

Question, is this is pessimistic or realistic given our track record?

- RhinoFan

Pessimistic. From the perective of lumping the screw-ups and results of Darcy, Murray and Botts in with Adams.

View Adams on his own and you must see the bright future ahead, while acknowledging they left money on the table this season.

I respect this post and your opinion.

If you thought the Sabres were gonna trade for chyrun and meier, greenway and stillman must be a huge disappointment.

I didnt think the organization was gonna go get 2 nhl vets that cost a bunch of money.

1 guy that's had a long list of injuries and surgeries.

No bueno...

- Boss34

when the team turns the corner, historically the sabres make a trade to get to the next level

trading for robert
trading for van boxmeer
trading for hawerchuk
trading for foligno
trading for fuhr
trading for lafontaine
trading for drury

no one knew hasek would be that level, so I did not include him

smells like time to get a big fish this summer

someone not on anyones radar

Ekblad?

Yeah, very good deals. Sure Tage and Cozens had a bit of say in that.

From where we came from, never thought we would be giving this coach and gm so much sh*t.

Pretty much what everyone wants is what Ottawa did last offseason and mid-season. How that turn out for them?

nowhere to go but up

team explodes with goals, and gm sits on his hands instead of fixing the d and goalie

coach gets blown out 10-4
7-1
7-0

when they finally have meaningful games in march

you except another wasted year with dahlin, tuch, tage, skinner, cozens, power and a lot of cap space

others do not

Yes , completely agree.

2022/23 season was a growth and positive year.

I couldn't be happier as a fan , home record sucked though...

2023 summer should build a playoff team IMO

Thirtysixensons laid out the blue print for Ottawa's failures. He wanted cat and chickenman.

Hows that working out?

our sights should be higher than the sens though

lets look at competing vs the bruins who we lost the last 2 games by 14-1 instead of the team 2 points behind us in the standings

Waster year from the youngest roster in the nhl with a 41 YO goalie on it? Something does not add up.

First round against one of the best hockey teams in history would of been tough on the youngsters.

Would of taken it thou….

is this because we are finally a .500 club 10 years after firing Lindy?

way too much scoring to settle to be the 9th to 11th best team in the east IMO

Same place we are, so maybe those deals actually help the Sabres. People are giving sh!t because it looks like a big opportunity was missed. Yes there's been huge growth and it's fantastic, doesn't take away the fact if he helped his D a bit more, or upgraded his goaltending sooner this team isn't in a playoff spot. It goes both ways.

If we have to go through another offseason of someone else signing a midget and Paul freaking out for 6 months, I might turn into beady

But but but... they did everything the way thirtysixensons wanted.....

Add the cat and add chicken man.

Not sure why buying high priced players with an injury history isnt working out?

Weird situation, where the rink guard gm got outsmarted by the soon to be fired Ottawa gm

You know where we are, you get it. πŸ‘

does this not fall on the gm though?

grab a decent goalie on a 1 year deal and a decent d man on a 1 year deal instead of anderson, bishop, bryson

if you just did those 2 things, I doubt you see half the people complaining

I felt like adams waived the white flag on the season before the puck dropped and IMO sends a bad message to a team with over a decade culture of losing

Super fun high scoring team with oodles of prospects...

This is a very likeable group of guys IMO.

You really think these young defenseman like rookie owen power and less then 100 nhl games samuelsson was gonna make a push.... interesting view.

Yes because those moves might not have benefited the Sabres more. It's working out that there in the same place we are. Not in the playoffs, doesn't mean if the Sabres get those players there not in the playoffs right now.

when your third in team scoring for the entire nhl and are tied for 3rd most road wins in your conference

you should be pissed your team missed the playoffs

What if the 1 year goalie became the starter?

How would Levi's camp feel?

Sure, plenty of good goalies available.....
