Yea I agree. But on the plus side.. the nose probably absorbed the force that otherwise would’ve concussed him 🧐.

Carolina is essentially without half of their top 6. Aho, Necas, Slavin, Burns and company are playing well though, and their goalies are more veteran than the young Igor. Their speed could pose a problem, but the Devils have showed us that they can be strong defensively. If we beat them, which I think we *should* in 6, I will feel kinda like we got a gift.. but I think we would’ve beaten the Islanders anyway so it is what it is.
Florida or Toronto would be a problem.

that's great and all but that has nothing to do with coaching well

PK saying it best, if the Devils can manage the puck well and handle the Canes forecheck they'll be right where they want to be.

Definitely going to be the biggest challenge. Canes are the best forechecking team in the league, and we've seen our D struggle with breaking the puck out against heavy pressure at times. That could make or break this series.

This is painful. The only area Carolina is somewhat vulnerable is in net and we haven’t managed to get one shot on net through almost 12 minutes?

We're getting crushed.

2 zip looks insurmountable in this game. Pull and rest Schmid, get Vitek some time and maybe light a fire under the team for game 2.

This is going exactly as I expected so far.

Thinking we're going to need more speed on the backend in this series and would like to see Hughes inserted into the lineup. Canes are just constantly pressuring and need all of the skating ability you can get.
