Boston used to do the helmet thing to the Canes all the time when that rule came into play.

Severson is not affordable at this point which is a shame because I'd rather have him back to bridge into Nemec but Graves can go for Hughes for sure.

Yeah seems to be way to go. That's what I'd do. Maybe sign a cheap vet depth D for 3RD in case Nemec isn't ready yet(unless they're confortable with Smith being that guy and just having someone playing on their offhand). Would love to be keep Sevo, but there's no way we can afford him.

Meier didn't do any extra skating with the scratches after morning skate. Neither did Lazar. Boqvist did.

Meier also stood by and watched the powerplay work, but didn't participate, so really not sure if he's playing or not and the whole thing is just a smoke screen.

It was already confirmed multiple times its not concussion-related. It's likely just pain management and breathing issues.
