Not at all. The Sabres got outclassed many times this season vs good teams.
Panthers, leaf’s, hurricanes and few other elite teams. There was a big talent and development gap.
We got out puck possessed out skated and out skilled
Grit like greenway for example actually hurts the team. He’s slow and not very skilled.
Playoff time. Your Jeff skinners or Dahlin can make the other teams mad and be a pest - Sabretooth9
When Kucherov, Colton or Cernak hit the body and dings up a few sabres, and there is no response by the sabres, we see the blue and gold fold game after game over the years
you seem to ignore this
even the coach and gm says a little grit sets the tone
Would you be willing to trade Tage or Cozens for Tkachuk?
Huberdeau scored 115 points and they won the presidents trophy and Zito still moved him to address the lack of grit.
It's not going to be an easy problem to address, and the way they draft doesn't help. - washedup20
Think you will see the Heart and Motivation to do what needs to be done with Nadeau. He just isn't as talented as Tkachuk skill wise. Remember watching a game with Nadeau and he had only been back for a bit from his shoulder surgery and just was named Captain. Kid went out and scored 4 goals had something like 10 registered hits and a fight. If Nadeau keeps working on his skating which he has improved immensely already. Gonna be a handful.

I don't think the position of 39 and others is the Sabres need to bring grit in 4th liners like Greenway as you reference in your post, unless you consider Tkachuk a 4th liner. Is he slow and not very skilled?
How about bringing in a guy who can be a productive top 6 player who has physicality to his game and plays with an edge? The Sabres don't need that?
That is a bold take.

That's why I asked 39 who in this draft has that motivation and some of the skill as Tkachuk. Cause not finding that in FA or in a trade. - Buff36
They can find it in a trade, but it will cost them. Do the Sabres have the necessary goods to pull off a deal like that? I'm not so sure, and can they afford it yet (yet being the key).
Draft wise, early on it would be Wood who brings skill with size and tough to p,as against...but I haven't heard of him having a intimidation factor to him.
There is another route, and that is to add that element just a bit later as a final piece through a trade in another year or two. That allows further development to occur with our young guys and hopefully build more trade value.
It is why you won't see me cry if they were to draft a guy like Oliver Moore who could be an excellent player in 2 years to replace a guy like Quinn as an EXAMPLE. The same would possibly be true for Savoie. Those guys are reportedly untouchable now, but for a final piece e one has to give e to get and having high potential depth is key to executing that strategy.
Who in this draft Brings some of that, there really isn't anything available in FA or trade that Brings that. IMO!! They might have a bit of that in Nadeau, but he will never be as Talented. - Buff36
Wonder if foligno ( marcus) had overstayed his welcome in Minnesota?. Could be a guy that likes buffalo, he was born here.

Travis Konecny works
he would open the ice up for cozens and quinn - homiedclown
Fits the timeline.
Quinn Cozens Konecny. Would be exciting.
Wonder what the acquisition cost would be, would Briere be willing to trade him. Seems like an ideal Torts guy.
