Would you be willing to trade Tage or Cozens for Tkachuk?
Huberdeau scored 115 points and they won the presidents trophy and Zito still moved him to address the lack of grit.
It's not going to be an easy problem to address, and the way they draft doesn't help. - washedup20
As many good moves as Zito has made, the deal for Chukky was practically handed to him. Zito was probably trying to figure out what to offer Hubie on an extension (while having dread visions of signing him to a contract like the Flames wound up doing), when his phone rang from CalGary asking if he’d be interested in Tkachuk, who wasn’t going to re-sign there but was willing (wanting) to sign long term in FL.
Zito was smart enough to jump all over the opportunity |

That’s not a compliment to the depth in the prospect pool. - washedup20
Well how many of are Top prospects are in Rochester and it was his 1st full year in the AHL. I believe he's trade bait, and the good thing his game got better as he got used to the NorthAmerican game. |

That’s if Adams can close a deal that doesn’t involve trading the best player at the time of the trade. |

Drury became an NHL GM in 21 - Conference finals and took a swing this season to win
Zito became an NHL GM in 2020 - won presidents trophy and took the best team ever assembled in the NHL regular season to game 7
Adams became an NHL GM in 2020 - bottom 10 finish for 2 seasons and an unplanned almost attempt in his 3rd season. |

But according to the village idiot on here, I was crazy and McKenzie and Davis drops weren’t an issue (and to an extent Knox’s) - sbroads24
Davis is infuriating. I feel like it's a concentration issue with him because he'll make insane catches like the one hander against the Steelers where you could see the ball still rotating on his hand, then he pulls it in and rips it away from Fitzpatrick. And those sideline grabs, but then drops routine passes. |

Also makes it easier when Tkachuk only wanted three teams in the Blues, Stars, or Panthers |

What did the Rangers and Panthers rosters look like when Drury and Zito took over? Had they inherited teams that used to be ran by Jason Botterill and Tim Murray? |

IMO, the best teams have a nice mix of all of it...
High skill guys
Offensive-minded guys
2-way dogs
Playmakers
Finishers
Checkers/possession guys
Energy guys
To name some.
Individual players should have a mix of them, rather than purely one-trick ponies.
Then, add in the soft skills, intangibles like high compete, leadership, Drive to improve every day, team oriented...these are the difference makers that put teams over the top.
Again, IMO. - IonSabres

Toronto could be a beast the rest of the way. Bolts controlled that game from beginning to end. Leafs D did a good job of allowing the G to see the puck and to keep the net front relatively clear while Samsonov did a nice job in net.
Kudos to them, they may have finally figured it out.
Morgan Rielly played great. Adding McCabe and Schenn certain helps with the net front. Sitting Holl may have been their best move. |
