Because I think that playoff hockey is a lot different than regular season hockey.
We saw how bad the Sabres at times struggled when things tightened up.
An extra 5 games in that atmosphere would've went a long way IMO. They would've figured out some things and would be better prepared for the years ahead.

Like hitting you don’t need playoffs to be a good hockey team, I’ve studied the anal up Tim’s, playoffs are just extra work and Krebs will get tired.
College prospects want an easy transition so the Sabre should actually play less games |

Is this a good offseason ?
Dahlin- 7yr 66.5mill Ext 9.5m Avv
Power -3yr 22.5mill Ext 7.5m Avv
Clifton- 6yr 36mill UFA 6m Avv
Torn on Goalie, really think they need to bring in someone to help Levi. Valarmov Anderson Talbot type, but we shall see on that front. |

Curious why you'd bridge Power for that much so early.

Going of the Bridge Dahlin signed. Little inflation and Power is better than Dahlin was at that point in relative years |

Love to see him sign Long term, but he could hit the jackpot in 3 or so years with the Cap supposed to jump. |

Questioning the year early part more than the $. Wouldn't you want to sign him long term next summer?

I think the last few weeks of do or die Hockey more or less accomplished that too in a sense. |

Yes I would, but he could just wait and let the cap skyrocket in 4yrs |

It is surprising - Buff36
Is it, or were they just going game by game and UPL would have played if things went differently?

But all they had to do was a paper transaction, and he would’ve been eligible they also chose not to play him. It’s puzzling. |

Maybe they feel like Subban/Houser give them a better chance to win in Roc? I dunno, strange for sure but so is carrying 4 goalies. |

UPL was the number one goalie prospect befor Levi. They have basically stopped all development with UPL. It’s really weird.
The most important thing for UPL right now is to be playing games whether that be in the NHL or AHL |

Sure they could have been, but all they had to do was a paper transaction at the TDL I believe |

Adams will be available Monday for questions, so hopefully someone asks him. |

Trying to think of the timing of everything. Did Adams truly not know 100% if Levi was going to sign, so they kept UPL up just in case. Hopefully someone asks him. |

Lol “did you fuuuuk up so bad with goalies this year that you ruined the value of a rookie of the month nhl goalie?”
Adams: “this is why I appreciate this job in the great city of Buffalo, the passion and dedication of the fans and media is outstanding…I look forward to building and competing with people who want to be here”

They would have never sent UPL down anyway, all it would have been was him being on the Rochester roster by the end of TDL, a paper move basically. |

UPL isn’t waiver eligible next year.
I’d be shocked if he wasn’t dealt.
Unless we are running Levi/UPL next year which is yikes. |

Two different topics really. No issue with not playing him recently.
He was their #1 at the TDL, I get not worrying about making him AHL playoff eligible. He graduated and won the job, at that point. If they really wanted him in Roch, they needed to trade for a G.

Man o man what a season...... For the first time in forever I have enjoyed watching the Sabres. This team has great things coming to it and soon. A defenseman here and a goalie there and the sky is the limit. Okposo has impressed me even though he will likely not be back and man has Mitts been playing great. I really like this team..... |
