Everyone put a lineup in with all internal players, atleast at Forward!! Can't do the other part until Saturday. And Savoie and Kulich are available to use. Here's mine!!
Skinner Tallness Tuch
Kulich Cozens Quinn
Peterka Mitts Savoie
Girgensons/Greenway Krebs Okposo/Greenway
I have heard people saying too much for rookies Savoie and Rousek...meh, Quinner and JJ held their own with another younger player in Cozens.
I'm not saying bring back Z or KO, but you're talking about lots of scenarios, what ifs, maybe's and could's for a team that NEEDS to make the playoffs.

Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports Giancarlo Stanton is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a left hamstring strain.
Nothing official from the Yankees yet. However, Kuty adds that his source says Stanton has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 strain, which will likely keep him out at least one month. Given the 33-year-old slugger's extensive injury history, the Yankees will likely be forced to proceed with extreme caution during his recovery process and aren't expected to rush him back. He suffered the injury during Saturday's contest against the Twins when he legged out a seventh-inning double. It's a tough break for the Yankees and fantasy managers as well.

What a shock this is - SABRES 89
You know, they've taken every series they've played this year. It's not all doom and gloom, lol. They're on pace for 101 wins.
Disagree strenuously.
Bringing back Zemgus and Okie blocks young kids from playing/developing since those two add exactly zero (exaggeration for sure) in the way of scoring production. They may be respected by their teammates (good on them), but their leadership doesn't overcome their lack of production any more. The Sabres can and must do better.
Bringing in Vets who can actually play at a significantly higher level of production does, which is a form of leadership on ice.
Stone hands Girgs and slow foot Okposo just don't have it anymore. Nice guys for sure.
It isn't like those two only cornered the leadership trait.
Retaining those two blocks young players because those two can't effectively play in the new NHL, while a couple of young studs just need to develop to find their way.
Like I said before, thank them and say goodbye. - IonSabres
Which new player or 2 new players are gonna draw the defensive minutes as a forward.
Also, you really like tampa more then buffalo, it's pretty obvious.
Zem is alltime good guy sabre.
Zem and kyle aren't blocking savoie or any other rookie from 4th line minutes.....
They have a role and play that role well.
You just want to roll the top 12 skilled forwards apparently?

It's either this year or next. Sabres have a young team with a lot of Younger players coming. Either those good young prospects start in the bottom 6 for the Sabres or they are gonna have to start trading some. Gonna have prospects blocking prospects.

100% we have to package prospects/picks/players for a genuine upgrade in the top 6. Unless you’re using them to bring in a premier top 4 D I suppose. There’s no way around the numbers game at this point. I really hope Greenway becomes the player they think he’ll be because at this point he’s underwhelming and just in the way.

I did not like the Greenway trade, especially using the 2nd. Hope he brings his balls next year, could throw a wrench into things.
Mitts / Krebs interchangeable there really - I don't know if my brain can withstand another season of watching plugs waste great passes from krebs. - JCSabs06
I get it, think depending on Savoie, Krebs might be stuck down there for another year. Or Mitts, he might be able to pull a good player

EDIT: I'm also ok with a 4th line of Greenway / Kulich / Rousek if they can hang and play tough minutes. Keeping 2 of Jost/Girgs/Okposo for fill ins when needed for injury or lack of performance.

If Granato "unlocks" Greenway as so many seem to believe Granato is only capable of and he can play serviceable 3rd line minutes then fine. Move Mitts to 3C and Peterka - Cozens - Quinn can keep building the chemistry they're developing. I don't think it hurts to split up Quinn and Peterka and see what they can get cooking with some other guys though too. I think Krebs and Savoie could really compliment each other maybe play them on the 4th line and see what they can generate in "sheltered" minutes.
By all accounts Savoie is a 200 foot player (I've only seen his scoring highlights so I can't comment to that).
I doubt any of those guys can do a better job. Kyle's re-signing, folks oughta get used to that. ZG, I'm not sure.
Malone gets injured all the time. Kozak's probably got at least another year. Pekar is an AHL-ECHL tweener. Rousek, I don't think he's a forechecker. You probably want him on the third line. And Murray, guy's had zero games in the NHL this year.
If those two didn't come back, two guys their age would come right in. - TheSabresTaco
I understand your thinking but you just cant bring that guy back, he's brutal. IMO him and Gus acting as leaders but failing as grinder role players had a significant role in defensive lapses.
It's easy to blame the youth but the leadership group this past season brought 0 to the table in that regard.
Murray can throw with the best of them, cant teach size.
Rousek looks like a 4th liner on a winning roster, if he's on the 3rd line the Sabres are injury riddled.
Malone/Pekar - I don't think they'll last but it would be worth it to give them a shot over Okposo....he's just too slow and beaten up.
Now after saying all of this I would much prefer to bring in veteran toughness to bolster the youth and bring some swagger to the team.

I agree about breaking up JJ and Peterka. I have no problem doing that, I actually put Kulich on Cozens wing cause I think Cozens would help guide and take Kulich to the next step of his development. Think Cozens helped Quinn and Peterka grow this year, think he can do the same with Kulich. Plus once Kulich Cozens Quinn all mature and grow into the bodies, that's a nice power line right there.

I can dig it. Wonder if they think Kulich is ready for the big leagues next year. Certainly seems to be on track.
