All drafts are unique.
Can't ignore that the NHL drafts undeclared 18 years olds and many of them are never signed.
MLB also drafts undeclared kids and lose their rights when they go back to school. A much tougher environment than the NHL. - Lunaion
Appreciate your thoughts. I didnt know that about mlb.
Losing johnson leaves a bad taste.
Sabres have the key pieces, need to plug in a couple good vets.

It sucks, I just don't think it systematic problem. They had his rights for 4 years and couldn't sign him.
I believe VO signed just before they would have lost his rights. No one would have called it a loophole if they had.

I might have called it a loophole. ☝️
It's an interesting word.
Any thoughts on a wr or dt for the Bill's Thursday?
I feel like they trade out of the 1st , pick up some picks. |

Does anyone wish Beane had traded Allen for picks and then traded for Rodgers? - RichardRoma

I like trading back, but Beane loves moving up.
I just want better talent around Allen.

Johnson was a 1st round pick how many 1st round picks don't sign an ELC in the NHL? It's not uncommon for 1st round picks in the MLB to not sign; I mean less than 10 years ago the 1OA never signed, so he went back into the draft the next year, went 17th, signed, and never played a game in the MLB. |

Agreed, time for some help, but
these guys love using premium picks on defense.
Feel like you still draft a little for the future, I'm worried about tre and diggs. Down the road...
I could see a giant dt like star letifioli. That would fit McDermotts flexed scheme IMO.

One angle that gets little attention are the transfer agreements. The CHL/AHL gets a fair amount of attention, but the SHL gets paid when their players sign as draft picks. Have to think it's part of the reason why they generally sign. I don't believe that the NCAA gets anything. Could be wrong, it's not easy info to find.

Getting a good receiver on a rookie deal makes a lot of sense in multiple ways.
I don't love Beane's drafting, but he's earned a lot of leeway.

Rather trade down and pick up an extra 3rd. Then take whoever is the top WR on their board in high second. Take one of those top Lbs with other 2nd, move up slightly if you have to.
Take a O-line in the 3rd
If we stay at our pick take a tackle or Quentin Johnson if he's there for his YAC

He needs to hit this draft. Hitting on Allen obviously gives you wiggle room but he has a lot of misses |

Who would you replace Beane with? Also, are you okay with Zay Flowers in the 2nd? |

Does he need you in the room with him, in order to “hit it?” |

Especially that 5th year that a rookie receiver 1st rounder would bring.
Makes a lot of sense. |

Hedges has indeed done more for the guitar than Beane has done for the Bills. |
