I did not like the Greenway trade, especially using the 2nd. Hope he brings his balls next year, could throw a wrench into things.

Weren't you advocating for him for like 2 months?

I can dig it. Wonder if they think Kulich is ready for the big leagues next year. Certainly seems to be on track.
- JCSabs06

I have actually watched a lot of Amerks hockey this year. I could see them keeping him down and being a call up. But he's been a totally different player since the new year. He's not a Small kid, just really young, took him a bit to figure out he was big enough to play with these other players. Excited to see how he looks in Camp.

I don't think I ever advocated for him, actually think I said he was a dangerous get because he had missed a practice and team meeting, maybe if the price was right and a 2nd wasn't it.

I coulda swore you were the one (not pointing fingers, just trying to remember) suggesting we trade for him.

I thought he'd be a decent add seeing he's 6'6 , didn't know he was so soft though and yeah the 2nd was a bit to steep.

It's cool, I probably mentioned him in some of my posts. But I wanted Timo, Crouse or Jeannot.
I wasn't expecting Greenway to come in and be this soft, hopefully he brings more next year. Could have gotten a Decent D prospect with that 2nd.

Mitts / Krebs interchangeable there really - I don't know if my brain can withstand another season of watching plugs waste great passes from krebs.
- JCSabs06

Someone has to explain the Krebs love to me. I like him in this L3/L4 role but anything else?

https://twitter.com/23sab.../1647657414240370690?s=20

This shows Mittelstadt is way more of a playmaker than Krebs currently.

They are not interchangeable yet

Mitts is 3 years older.

Krebs first full season is pretty similar year to Casey's first full season

Mostly just from watching him play, the passes he makes, and opportunities he creates for his linemates. The main difference between them the past year has been their linemates.

I would estimate that if Mitts was stuck playing 4C with Okposo and Grigs while Krebs got minutes with Olofsson (a guy who can finish - usually) or plugged into 1C for 10 games that chart would have those names flipped.

Theoretically it wouldn't. This is measuring how good someone is at setting someone up for a legit scoring chance.

If you look at the rest of the names and where they are, it seems to make a lot of sense, no?

Asplund, Girgensons in the no threat category, Skinner Thompson both in the threat/sniper area. Dahlin by far the most impactful playmaker. I think it tracks

Have to think Jason Karmanos is high on the list of potential GM candidates. 3 Stanley Cups. Heavily involved in the scouting, development and analytics departments in Buffalo. Very early in the process, but a return to Pitt makes some sense. See how it unfolds.

If you look at the Y axis it shows Finishing stats (% on goal odds). Look who is ranking high on that list. Olofsson, Tuch, Skinner, all guys that mitts got to play with. No matter what krebs did with his linemates they weren't going to finish and there was no way for him to improve the % of setting up finishes if their base % is essentially 0.

Well if Karmanos goes, does he try and bring Ventura with him ?
Do the Sabres move Kevyn up to President and give the GM job to Ventura ?
Think out of Karmanos and Ventura I probably would try to keep Ventura.

Not bad, other than both being back!!👍

I just kinda think donnie likes those 2 in key defensive situations. Crazy how often he starts the KOG line at home and away.

That's a tough thing to give up. Also, feel like defensive awareness is a veteran quality....

So replacing them with kids, doesnt make sense.

I feel like savoie is 100% gonna be on this roster too.
Break him in slowly....

Tallness
Cozens
Mitts
Krebs
Is a pretty good 4 at the C position if Mitts keeps it up. You have Savoie who could possibly take 3C. I don't think in 2yrs it will matter if Krebs is still at 4C cause he should have good 200ft Wingers then.
Nadeau Krebs Rousek could make for a very good 4th line.

I could see a management wide promotion. Especially with Kim being unable to continue with her position.

Give them bigger titles , smaller $ amount...

I posted what my buddy was calling for.

Greenway for asplund and a pick.

It wasnt a 2nd either. We were doing them a "favor" taking greenways contract as part of the deal.

Close but no cigar.

I agree that is pretty strong down the middle from a skill standpoint (let's not talk about their prowess on Faceoffs for now :/) I just, personally, want to see what Krebs can do with real linemates. Mostly because I was an unabashed Casey hater until he turned it on this year and am not convinced he is going to keep it up for the rest of his career whereas we might have something in Krebs that could fill Mitts spot if we move him at the top of his perceived value.

Is this a trick question?

He's currently Associate GM.

I get it. There's also other concerning offensive stats for Krebs

Like having the worst PP production of anyone who was on PP1 or PP2 for over at least 60+ minutes

Not a trick question at all.

Would he be the actual GM with final say in what most GM's have say in, or is this some stupid ploy to keep all of them here?

Because why would Karmanos accept the job if it's just in title only while Adams is really pulling the strings still?
