That # is similar to what we were discussing.

2.8 rings a bell.
Team friendly at 2.5 million per year.

Kris Baker said Rosen needs at least another season in the minors, could get some games in 24/25…..

14th overall in 21’ - he’ll be 22/23 before he sniffs the show….

Elite GM’ing

It isn't a skill thingy. It's alot to do with bulking up his scrawny 160lb body on a 5'11" frame, and of course continue to learn the NA game with less time and space.
Potting 7 pts in his last 10 games to finish strong is pretty solid.
Get 20 Lbs of muscle on him and boom, watch him take off just when the Organization will need more fresh blood to replace Okie and Girgs in the '25 season lol.

I don't get all the hate for the big guy. Still so young. He was inconsistent like the team in front of him. Develop him and Levi right though and you could have 2 great goalies
- DirtyDan

UPL is 24 and has had multiple AHL seasons.

His game and where is at is terrible. Like I mean terrible as I’m not exaggerating.

- weak glove hand
- poor hockey IQ / slow to read a play. (Pass acrosses come to mind)
- looks small in goal at times
- lateral movements not great (Levi is excellent at this)
- his angles are dreadful

His stats are below NHL level stats. So often teams we played, their backup had better statistically then UPL

Probably has nothing to do with making sure the phenom college prospect and him leaving for nothing.

Nothing to do with a vet dahlin at 22 that's plays offense
Samuelsson 100 nhl games
Power 20 years old
Bryson
Stillman
Clague.

So it's all zemgus girgensons fault?

- Boss34

One is declining and contributes so very little...
Most others are growing and developing and contributing significantly or playing over their head due to organization deficiencies.

Why volunteer to bring back two who have done nothing but lose?

Levi’s success is based off of merit. The guy does well at every level. UPL is a project goalie. I kinda like the contrast.

I think they are adequate 4th liners. I really hope we get better 2nd line production and a 3rd line that can play tough minutes.
- joshs

We have the money to get more than adequate support is all.

Zucker would be a good get IMO

Rosen could be great in 26/27 - to waste a 14 OA pick in 21' was worse than the Alex Nylander pick. It didn't/hasn't helped the Sabres as he is a less effective skilled winger than the players on the team and those drafted after him.

Adams talks soft, builds soft, resulting in soft product. Maybe he'll bring up bullying at the next GM's meeting and ask other teams to stop as its not nice.

It was a bad pick. I remember watching the draft and it was a huge reach and TSN commentators were baffled. Passing on guys like Lysell, Scechkov and Lambos.

I wanted Sillinger. Missed him by 2 spots.

31, 5' 11' 190lbs - 48 points last season - where do you see this as an upgrade in the top 9?

If you see him as a 4th line role player, when has he ever played that and how is he a value add to that line?

He came into this season with Rochester at roughly 175 pounds, so he's already begun the process of bulking up.

Zucker Cozens Quinn is better than Petey next year IMO. I'd move Petey down a line until he can pack on a few more pounds personally.

Edit: I think he's a good candidate for a high priced 1 year deal. A stop gap guy. A lot better than resigning Girgs or Okposo IMO.

I'm just looking at the current roster, we should age 5 more wins (7 points) IMO.

Both those guys, 2 all stars and leaders aren't the problem.

It's easy to bring back the same 91 point team, why not?

Add a vet goalie and a 3/4 defenseman or 2.

Dahlin
Power
Samuelsson
Player x
Player y
Boosh
Stillman

Levi
Varlamov

Out we jost, olofsson in with savoie and rousek.

Efficient and doesnt leave a void at leadership.

Both sides knew it was a weak draft. That's why risto gets you a pick in the early teens.

You could be right, outside the top 10 - as of now the only homerun was wyatt Johnson.

No no no ….. did you even watch levi? That kid is lightyears ahead of upl and Comrie as a goalie. He is good. It’s not based at all on merit.

UPL has had multiple seasons in Rochester and now in buffalo, His goals against is consistently above 3.00.

His weakness are very very obvious and he’s shown no improvements.

Really bad take by you.

Yeah, I get that. I’ve gone to a lot of Sabres games with ex college / junior hockey goalies who tell me these things.

And after awhile you can pick up on it.
