The second point is just as important as the first. Look no further then Jim Benning screwing up a wet dream scenario in Vancouver the last few years

Curious what it would take to pry Pettersson out of Vancouver.

Stillman-Lybushkin was a formidable third pair.

Greenway had some good and bad.

No long term boo boo’s though, which is all the more important.

Did he make the moves to make the playoffs this year ? No

Has he done anything to affect the team in a negative way long-term ? No.

Dude. stillman sucks. trust me. he did the same thing in chicago and vancouver. he plays decent for 15 games and then he finds his talent level.

you sure about that? you don't think they players might have some reservations about him making a move if needed? i do.

Could make an argument Florida is the second best team in the Atlantic that got hampered by goaltending issues until about 10 minutes ago when Alex Lyon showed up out of nowhere.

Florida isn’t a typical wild card team on paper.

The Isles are more like it

- Swedish_Jesus

You could make that argument about FL. But, their problems weren’t simply “goaltending issues”, though.

he did? you have to make the playoffs to be in a cup window. until that happens, the clock on the window is ticking.

sorry but trying to acquire matt (frank)ing murray isn't a winning move. the guy has been dogpoop for at least 3 season when he has been healthy.

making a move at the TDL is something he should have done to not only show belief in this group for this season but give him a head start on getting some much needed pieces for next. when i say making moves i am referring to trading for guys who have some term on a contract.

even getting waxed in the playoffs has a benefit. it shows the kids what exactly is needed to win in the playoffs.

Greenway has term, time will tell if that was worth the second rounder or not.

As much as I love Timo Meier, he did not have term past next season.

Chychrun and Ekholm had term but when you are about to pay Dahlin and Power, is it worth moving the draft capital it took to get them ?

I know Ottawa’s GM loves trading multiple first round lotto picks and #1 goalies (The Gustavsson guy who made 52 saves the other night) away on a yearly basis but that didn’t really do much for them.

Roope Hintz is a hell of a player.

https://www.capfriendly.com/players/roope-hintz

I remember our former blogger Ghofrani suggesting trading Reinhart for Hintz years ago.

Would've been a steal of a trade.

Guy's nearly a 40-40 player, and he excels on faceoffs too.

I was thinking along the lines of the above, but that Vancouver would want even more, like Krebs in addition to what you listed.

in fairness they didn't strip that team down to AHL players to win mcdavid draft year. so they had a lot more talent to start with.

Eichel literally floated around the perimeter all night in his big playoff debut. No real intensity. I thought that was his primary reason for leaving? Thank god we got rid of him. I bet he is not a Knight for after next year

Things that would be awesome

Panthers bounce the Bruins
Tampa bounces the Leafs

That’s all I need, well maybe maybe the devils to beat the rangers but that’s it.

I think they got crushed last night, something like 8-4, and they're now down 2 games to 1 in their series?
