I'm here for the rumors from the couple "insiders".

If it makes people feel better to come in here day in and day out and whine ridiculously and incessantly about the same sh!t, have at it. But, contrary to hockeybuzz Sabres thread posters beliefs, it changes nothing.

Sure man. Discuss all the rumors you want. You have my permission.

There is a rumor out there that your post is a big old pile of ooooooopie.

Forwards are vital to defensive zone play, too.
- Powerslave

Oh so the forwards, who all had career years still aren’t good enough to play 200’ game?

No, this isn't about me. You said Adams doesn't see it. And that's plain bullsh!t.

He also has 3 incredible young pieces (two 23 year olds and a 20 year old) at D already on his roster.

- Powerslave

Does he, what has he drafted. Samuelsson, Dahlin and Joker came before him. Power was a no brainer. You said something to me when I wasn't complaining just referencing another post.

He picked up Stillman:

This is all wrong. The Sabres suck, but they don't know it.

This is probably the 5th time I’ve crafted that same post since the offseason.

Joker never took the step he needed to. He’d be fine as a third pair D but isn’t built for the top 4.

Adams identified Samuelsson as part of his long term core with the contract he gave him, drafted Power, and Stillman-Lybushkin is a fine third pair.

That’s 67% of a d-corps changed over in a calendar year.

Would it be nice to have a couple more d-prospects ? Sure.

We can also deal from a position of strength to add a d-man.

It’s not the end of the world

This isn’t directed at you because I know you don’t refuse to give Botterill credit where it’s due, but I think it’s funny how a lot of people credit Adams for the guys Botterill ended up hitting on.

Thompson, Cozens, Samuelsson etc. Adams gets more credit for extending them then the guy who brought them here gets

You're right. Adams, Ventura, Karmanos and Granato are all oblivious. 🤣

Don't worry, I bet they read hockeybuzz and they thank you couple dudes for the free lesson in how to run a professional hockey team and they'll rectify the issue at the draft and/or free agency.

Someone should tell Gerbe, too, so he can pass the word along on everyone's behalf.

Yeah, I'm acting like a tool right now, but ffs, do you hear yourself?

Honest question.

What do you think Tage could have gotten as an RFA this summer with arb rights one year away from UFA ?

Not only did we avoid a Matthew Tkachuk situation, we got an elite Center signed for like 60% of what he’s actually worth.

If that doesn’t earn Adams a pat on the back, I don’t know what does

I give him credit for extending them. I don’t think it makes him some GM savant like people are trying to make him out to be.

Thompson scored 38 goals and 68 points in a breakout year. It’s not like Adams signed him to this lengthy extension when he was a fringe player.

I think the Samuelsson deal (while still tbd how good it is) is a lot ballsier and deserves more credit if it works.

Cozens was a no brainer

I mean, we all know that if Thompson’s season was a one-off, everyone would be wanting the guys head if 2019/2020 Tage was making $7M for the next 7 years.

It was a calculated gamble, one that previous administrations failed to do.

The Sabres had an opportunity to get Reinhart signed long term at a great cap hit and didn’t.

But there was too much evidence it wasn’t. He consistently played really well and consistently scored for 80 games. A typical hot streak doesn’t last nearly that long

I’m willing to acknowledge when he makes a good move. I’m also going to point out when he screws the pooch. Which is what anyone who isn’t drinking the Kool-aid knows he did this year at the deadline.

Pierre Dorion won the offseason and the trade deadline.

Won everywhere except the standings.

Sometimes the flashy move isn’t the best move.

This wasn’t the Sabres year to go all in, but thanks to his draft picks and contract work to date, the Sabres have multiple all-in years coming up.

Tired off hearing this, Adams didn't have to go all in. There seems to be a disconnect there somewhere.

“All in”. Lmfao I just can’t with this guy. Once again, for the people in the way way back… KA tried to bring in a difference maker at the deadline and couldn’t. The entire world is aware of what a whiff that was. Except you and 2 other guys swirling their head in the Kool-aid punch bowl.

The above is not nearly as easy as it seems with how much the value of defensemen, both NHL level defenders and prospects, has risen the past few seasons.

And it's not just trading for them.

Many teams seem to want a quality prospect defenseman in return for big players.

Look at some recent big trades for examples of the above.
