Lots and lots of distractions, things to plan and consider when you're expecting, along with supporting your wife/lady.

Big change from being entirely focused on nothing but hockey 24/7.

- kingcong39

Also easier to get the best nannies and help for your wife while your not home.

Or he’s just who he is and we need to stop making excuses for every player?

This wasn't a one time event. The no contact, low effort version of VO is what we've seen 75% of the time since he's been here.

He has a Risto effect. The highlights look good, but he kills you at both ends of the ice.

The Sabres with Levi are better than the islanders and the jets.

Brent Burns would be such a good fit on the Sabres roster.

Was Adams afraid to use draft capital or make Ryan Johnson feel uncomfortable:

Sharks gave him away:

Burns contract is ugly. No thank you

You also can’t have all your money tied up defensemen.

Dahlin and power will get big raises. Let’s say Dahlin is 10 and power is 6-7 mill and then burns at at 8 mill for 2 more years.

That’s way way too much. Add in samualsson

That is 24+ mill in defense. Way way too my much cap space

Wow 2 more years at market value for a roster need on the lowest salary in the nhl…brilliant call, safe, smart, secure the early season tee times.

Easy no. And the Sabres needed a goalie that didnt suck and they would be in playoffs

I appreciate you putting all your chips into a rookie goalie with 7 games experience in the NHL while confidently brushing off adding a potential hall of fame defenseman.

Excited for elite GMing moves this off season using your approach.

Levi could be the starter at the WC for Canada. Fingers crossed he is the starter. It will go a long way preparing him for next year. If he has a great WC it will reinforce the idea he is an NHL starter and can skip the AHL.

Last tournament the Olympics he was the 3rd goalie and didn't even get in as backup.

For the draft I like

1. Reinbacher(probably gone but good chance in the AHL next year)
2. Leonard(But going the college route. Tough to play against. Sabres need)
3. Sale(could be in AHL next year)
4. Yager(having a great playoff run)
5. Simashev(Its a reach at 13 but would still be happy unfortunately 3 years away)

Yeah it really is something how picky the fan base of the longest playoff drought in the NHL is

I’m genuinely convinced that there’s a segment of fan base that now judges the success of the season by how high our draft pick is.

Carolina is probably looking to trade defense. Would rather go after Pesce. Probably cost 1st+Rosen+Joker and maybe that doesn't get it done.

It’s where they’re comfortable. Having any expectations is uncomfortable

The Pegula’s and Adams have mastered making sure there’s no real expectations over the past three years

Nothing is managements fault.

Remember when the Sabres were free falling and “no deadline addition would’ve made a difference”

We ended up 2 points out.

Almost any meaningful deadline addition and we end the drought

Flagged accidentally cause this site is garbage.

But ending the drought means Nothing… allegedly. Mind you any sign of faultering next year will be magnified by 100000 now.

Winning the cup is what the Sabres are building for. Unlike other teams just happily building to be a playoff team only.

Burns at an $8M cap hit...?

You missed a very important part of that trade:

($2,720,000 retained - 34%) · $5,280,000

Burns at a $5.3M cap hit and an even smaller actual dollars owed is quite nice, despite his age.

His contract would've fit the timeline well.

Carolina is paying Burns to the tune of a $5.3M cap hit because San Jose ate a third of his cap hit to make the trade.

His cap hit and his actual dollars due are both a non-issue.

Sale fits the pattern of some recent Sabres overseas picks.

Tankathon has Yager mocked to the Sabres at 13.

It’s funny how the theme was “no excuses this summer” yet everyone’s roster projections is like running back the exact same roster minus Olofsson and Bryson
