On Novikov They are just working on some things he should be joining soon - gerbe75pts
WTF!! Spend less time worrying about someone who won't be here for 5 years and more time bringing in someone who would've helped Sabres get in the playoffs this past year. I'm pissed. Dammit |

Östlund's CAA rep tells Swedish news outlets that Noah flew to Rochester yesterday. Unsure if he will play any games, but he will train with the team, check in on foot injury from winter, etc.
Sounds like 2023-24 plan still being worked, but agent feels BUF may want him in NA.

I felt like he revealed his intentions for trading "expendable" players, working on draft trades, upgrading the defense, reducing the goaltenders, fast-fowarding (per-se) to "rounding out the roster" instead of figuring out who's going to be here long term. - TheSabresTaco
To those that didn't listen, this was the interview in a nutshell. Well done. |

The only informative piece from what I heard was the physicality/hits part.
Other than that he gave no definitive answers and anything else beyond that is conjecture |

I think I may start responding to any log jam post, either in reference to the AHL or NHL roster, with, "ROLL 4 female dog".
What do we think? |

Mine is less of a worry or “blocking” and more of a sheer numbers. I’m sure we have guys coming off the books, so probably a nothing burger. |

It's a friendly interview. You know he isn't going to say anything bold or get pressed on any topic.

The analytics stuff was cool, I liked that he repeatedly talked about the analytics department and how they're diversifying data sets to not just include league wide or publicly distributed data. Also, he confirmed he expects the team to get younger again next year, so guys like Kulich are going to have a real chance of making the team at least. It wasn't ground breaking, but cool tidbits. |

No I think you're right it's a valid concern. Just think we'll be talking about it a lot over the next couple seasons. We have too many cooks in the kitchen, going to have to combine and hopefully upgrade. |

But what do you take out of this? One minute, he loves Girgs and Okposo and wants them back. Then, Mitts is core. Next, opportunities are there for Savoie + Kulich. All these things don't fit. It's easy to say you love everyone when there's no follow up.

Does Okposo or Girgs block them though? Based on how they dealt with Hino, Bjork and Olo, it seems like they don't have a problem dropping guys to make room for youth even with term left or fresh contracts signed. Okposo, I'd assume, would be 13F out the get go, if resigned. |

You think they're going to bring back their (arguably) most well respected veteran and Captain as a 13rd forward who would start the season on the bench? |

Trade olo, don’t RE-sign okposo. That would be what I would do. But I didn’t even stay at a holiday inn last night. |

Its all business at the end of the day. The group will decide as a whole what the best thing for this organization is going forward. Most of what you hear is lip service. Not all of it will be true come July/August. |

I really don't expect more. As much as I'd love an honest answer to the obvious follow up questions, I know we'd just get more GM speak. I miss GMTM interviews.

That big Russian Simashev really moved up and Pellikka dropped quite a bit. |
