Rat, you have to be loving your team...they are fin to watch...maybe Maurice was correct in insisting the team play the "right" way ... a better overall game with attention to detail.

Yes they are fun to watch, and definitely more suited to tightly played games. They worked on being more defensive and their offense struggled (injuries and cap problems, too) They were pretty much done until (it seemed that) Maurice let them run a bit more around New Year’s, and they made up all the lost ground. They were on a tear to end the season, but the first round vs Bs was whole new level of intensity and forechecking. They are relentless right now. But, they must keep game 5v5 as much as possible. If they can’t stay out of the penalty box, they will eventually get roasted by the leafs power play.

The analytics stuff was cool, I liked that he repeatedly talked about the analytics department and how they're diversifying data sets to not just include league wide or publicly distributed data. Also, he confirmed he expects the team to get younger again next year, so guys like Kulich are going to have a real chance of making the team at least. It wasn't ground breaking, but cool tidbits. - QuinnFan
So they'll still have that excuse to fall back on if things go sideways.

Not first game, but second, yes. I think he would be promised around 20 games unless injuries forced him in. He's cooked and the C is going to transfer if Donny has any cahones.

There's two spots...Girgs...Jost. There are guys that could be dropped if the kids earn it. To Homie and Lun's points, it does seem to fluctuate somewhat to whether or not they actually do it.

Lots of people who pay $ to go see the Sabres play ( season ticket holders) respect girgensons game.
Blue collar , lunch pail, hard worker.
Guy that watches the 1st period or so in florida, while rooting for the Lightning, doesnt like girgensons.
