Man, you told me if I didn’t think the trade was analytics driven, than you don’t know what to tell me. Where did that come from? When did I ever bring up either analytics or “the trade”?
You just grind off the curb in a different direction, steadfastly trying to sound like the smartest guy in the room.

You said they brought in the “computer boys” and then said they brought in Zito to “beat the bolts”.

Zito has made several analytics driven moves.

That is my point.

What would you say the primary difference is between the way Huberdeau plays the game, and the way Tkachuk does? Asking for a friend.

And you said it as if I had made some kind of contrary statement, when I had mentioned neither analytics nor the Hubie/Tkachuk trade. Just out of the blue you’re off on some different tangent when your previous one starts to fall apart.

What fell apart?

Special teams and goaltending decided another playoff game tonight.

You are the one who brought up “computer boys” and made a reference to the Zito regime like he’s doing anything different than what they did.

They are one and the same.

Matthew Tkachuk should win the Hart trophy this year.

Hubderdeau fell off a cliff as expected as he was an extremely flawed forward who although is a good playmaker was a huge benefactor of the talent around him.

Dude, you are the one who totally missed the point. The computer boys emulated Pittsburgh, Zito’s model was more Tampa Bay. That’s it, that’s all. I never said a damm word about who uses analytics or who doesn’t. Never brought up trades. At some point along the line you could’ve just said, “oh, I wasn’t aware of that.” But you just keep veering off trying to keep up the facade that you were right all along. This all started when I informed you the Panthers’ strength was at 5v5, and you’ve been deflecting off that all the way up until now instead of just simply saying, “oh, I wasn’t aware of that.”

Notice the mental gymnastics that were employed in order to avoid mentioning the actual one-word answer? Hysterical.

One is an elite forward, the other is a complimentary playmaker.

109 points in 79 games and 15 points in 7 playoff games.

Really that simple.

No, what’s hysterical is that apparently I am Sabretooth and the sole difference between Huberdeau and Tkachuk is one brings a physical element and the other one doesn’t.

Yes and that one ingredient is a big part of the difference between an “elite forward”, and a “complimentary playmaker”

Tkachuk could go a full 82 game season without throwing a single hit and he would still be an elite forward.

Like holy hell man

No, he wouldn’t. He does it best work in hard working areas, the areas where complimentary playmakers won’t go. It’s a place where no hitting is not an option. Hard to create turnovers if you don’t hit somebody once in a while. Hard to be in front of net for easy tap in goals if you’re not muscling your way around occasionally, at least fending off those trying to move you.
