No, he wouldn’t. He does it best work in hard working areas, the areas where complimentary playmakers won’t go. It’s a place where no hitting is not an option. Hard to create turnovers if you don’t hit somebody once in a while. Hard to be in front of net for easy tap in goals if you’re not muscling your way around occasionally, at least fending off those trying to move you.

You just described Reinhart. It's not easy to pull off, but he has.

Explain Mitch Marner being a selkie finalist on the back of 97 and 99 point seasons to me then.

Rhino has been a different player in these playoffs. Hell I think he was 2nd in hits for Florida in the 1st series.

I’d buy that for a dollar!

Strange how Grigorenko Is vilified around these parts but Girgles is held by some to be an effective Pro hockey player. I guess we are only allowed to blame the highest picked draft pick for sucking rather than the guy drafted 4 spots later.

Which one is the better player today? It's more or less a toss up.

You are intentionally obtuse sometimes. I think it was pretty clear I was focusing on offense in my comment. I was referring to being willing to go in and forecheck hard and create turnovers.

2nd among forwards
Gudas, Bennett, Samson.
He’s everything that Boss always insisted he wasn’t, actually.
Rhino’s pass to set up Lundell’s goal last game was slick as can be.

To be fair that's where Reinhart makes his money. And outside of soaking up a ton of abuse -which I'm not dismissing in the least- no one thinks he's "tough" like Tkachuk.

Speaking of slick passes, check this one out:

Tyson Kozak buries the excellent backhand dish from Isak Rosén to get the Amerks on the board first.

Rosen definitely looks bigger, even from when I saw him in Rochester in December. And Kozak seems to have added a bit to. Sabres are gonna have some hard decisions to make very soon.

Let's Get the "vibes" started early today!!!
Kulich, Rosen- Growing before are eyes, once they realized they fit here they have taken there games to another level.
Rousek just continues to play Hockey, kids got Heart
Weissbach, Murray, Kozak have been good in the playoffs and continue to get better.
Savoie- Has been crushing it, he's gonna be a good one.
Nadeau- Very High on this kid, might be my favorite prospect. Once he hired the Skating coach his game exploded. He has everything you could want in a 200ft Power Forward. If he keeps on this track, could be are Foligno in a few years.
Ostlund- The forgotten 1st rnd pick. If this kid puts on 20lbs he might be the best of the 3 in 3 or 4yrs.
Fun stuff, the waves of prospects that will be hitting Rochester is gonna be fun to watch.

Great post!

I think we have to shed some praise on the Coaching Staff for each of the two teams regarding development of the young players. What they are doing to maxixize the hit rate is amazing.

Think about over the last 2-1/2 years how they have brought around guys who we were questioning at the time. Tage, Dahlin, Cousins, Samuelson. How they extracted alot more from Skinner and Tuch than each had produced before. Moved Power, Quinn and JJ into varying degrees of success in their 1st NHL season. Brought Krebs along...more work to do, but his game is now beginning to show...same with the rescue effort of Jost.
It is pretty incredible actually.

That said, I'd like to see the Sabres upgrade Donnie's staff with guys who are expert in their Asst Coach role to improve our Special Teams and especially the Defensive awareness in the System to bring GA down rather dramatically. Would like a better Goalie coach as well.

That and for KA to make the key moves this team needs to take another significant step forward.

Think Adam Mair and his crew should be praised to. They do a lot of work with these kids we don't see. Think Donnie needs to add a little more experience to his staff, a lot of these guys have worked lower level Coacing AHL ECHL OHL. Adams really has no excuses right now not to be able to improve this team.
