Very true about tomorrow. What has changed on Murphy, he's basically a Samuelsson clone that plays RD

A year passed. Assets and timing made sense last year. If they liked him and he was going to move, that was the time.

Is he good on the power play or does he play goalie? If not he doesn’t help us in the playoffs so why bother?

In all seriousness he’d be a decent add but I bet the cost is high

Could be right, but I think Adams had certain players he was going to try and get, and if that didn't work then wait and see who develops more.

I'm not pretending around these parts like so cal.

He is the biggest hypocrite on this board.

Guys clearly smarter then you and me, he let's everyone know with his fancy words, correct conjecture and spelling.

Guy also piles on, something i do not respect.
Pure bully mantra.

Hope you have a great sunday uncle ionlightning ☝️

Is the PK as important as the PP then?

It always depends on what narrative you want to push.

If the Leafs go 0/4 on the PP they lost because they suck on the PP, not because the opposing PK is good.

I also think PK has more to do with structure and system and PP has more to do with raw skill

Also, my main point in all this is that you can blame/credit special teams for every single win or loss if you spin it that way.

It’s incredibly lazy analysis most of the time.

Is Granato going to do an Irish jig in front of Adams to pick up one of these guys?

Nothing has a 100% success rate, but a majority of the time if you have the better special teams and the better goaltender you will win the playoff series.

Vegas and Florida were the exceptions in round 1 (got the better goaltending but lost the special teams battle).

Pretty cut and dry to me. You either score on a power play or don’t.

What’s left to interpretation ?

Whether you frame it as the Leafs PP has let them down or Florida’s PK has bailed them out it’s the same result

Both PP and PK are reliant on structure, system, and the talent to execute.

The answer is all of the above

Has Edmonton had 1 bad power play season with McDavid and Draisaitl? They’ve played for what 3-4 coaches and different systems now?

Power plays are much more reliant on skill than penalty kill

Literally everything leading up to and after the power play?

Again it’s just really lazy analysis. Especially trying to say last nights game was a result of special teams. It was a result of special players

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.

Freddie gives up 2 bad goals (one of the special teams variety).

Game over

So that’s the only difference you’ve seen compared to the other night where the Devils only shot on goal through 14 minutes was a dump in from center ice?

Like come on

That's a bit misleading, as the odds for either are between 4%-5%.

It's less than a percentage point difference that they'd move down compared to moving up, due to how few teams are behind them in the lottery.

25% more likely to move down than up!

Think everyone knows the odds of moving at all are low. Would be nice though....
