No. At this stage of our team, I don't have a need to swap 22 for Mitts.

Unless we're talking top 10 picks, this team should not be trading core/long term pieces for picks.

Player(s) for player.

- TheSabresTaco

Agreed, this is the stage where they need to trade for the right players, not more futures.

Interesting trade proposal from a Tampa Fan. Would you do this ?
Tampa trades Cirelli to Columbus(LA) for there 2023 1st
Tampa trades that pick to Buffalo for Casey Mittelstadt which would be pick 22

- Buff36

I responded that a player like Erik Ciernak would need to be the return. The balance of that trade could be worked, but if Mitts and Ciernak were the centerpieces, I think the Sabres would have genuine interest. A late first does nothing for this team if the price is a utility, 60 point cheap rfa.

They shouldn't be trading Cirelli either.

Trade Stamkos.

People are getting insane.

Can we get a winner please? You know before the promotions to POHO, articles about how revolutionary the organization is and a second contract extension?

The team that edged us by a point is playing in the ECF.

Meanwhile the entire fan base is sharing videos from 15+ freaking years ago, the last time we won a few playoff series.

We absolutely could have beat Boston and had a very memorable end to the drought but nah. Too busy revolutionizing the sport

Rumor is everywhere now!!

Surprised he's only discussing it as a rental. He makes perfect sense long term. The plan to compete does not need to rely on Levi.

Agreed, and they would be a target of mine for D, they still have a few in the pipeline that can step in.

Guess it would depend on how long and Money. It's not like a few years down the road if he's still playing well and the contract isn't ridiculous that you couldn't recoup some assets.

Was going to say the same. With his extension just kicking in, obviously not happening.

Gotta fix the D. Won't be easy, but that's the hole he dug himself.

But if you punch in the anal- up-tiks into the computer it says throw away career seasons for roster players to anoint Levi God-teir status….follow the numbers

I saw an article posted by a Sabres blog on twitter saying Adams is "revolutionizing the GM position in Hockey".

The Maple Leafs might fire the GM who's had what? 5 straight 100 point seasons?

When will the Sabres and their fans make it back to planet earth and the NHL?

- sbroads24

Well, since Darcy, GMTM and Botts conspired to send the Team for a Journey around Saturn for 11 years, we now see the Rocket Ship returning coming from around the Moon and on it's way...boosters are on full throtle

Anything is a possibility.
During regular season, the Bruins earned a 2-1-0 record against the Panthers and outscored them 17-15. Pretty, pretty close.

Against the Sabres, The Bruins put on a Clinic earning a 3-0-1 record and outscoring the them 20-6 and were visibly laughing at our boys the last 2 games when games are intense...or, at least should be.

How you can position that as the Sabres absolutely could have won is amazing logic. They weren't in the same universe.

Still, I wish they had made it.
Missed opportunity is as far as I'll go..

Correct, but Cap Hit absolutely must factor into it.
1B is perfectly fine to play 40 games this year and 30 next year...hopefully not having to pay $8or$9Bigleys for it.

By your logic, the Senators had a much better shot to beat them than the Sabres because they beat them twice during the regular season

Arizona would’ve stood a better chance too I guess

Dallas, Vegas, Jersey zero shot.

Also it’s almost like Boston had a historic regular season it something.

We can affirmatively say making the playoffs would have been good.

Beating Boston? We'd no doubt be underdogs. Also keep in mind Florida is a veteran team. The Sabres are anything but.

Sure, but the cap shouldn't be a factor the next 2 years. Internal budget might.

If you want to project 3-4 years out, when Tuch's deal expires and all these kids are off ELC's, that's a tough one.

Only way to project even somewhat accurately is to include the deals for Tage, Cozens, Power, Dahlin, Samuelsson and Levi. Take that cash away, add about 10M to the cap max and that's what we have to fit Quinn, Peterka, Mittelstadt and Krebs and what their extensions look like. Everyone else will be on ELC deals. Skinner would have 1 year left at 9M, tough to say if he'll be here for his final year.

I don’t think we would’ve for sure beaten them. But I am quite annoyed Florida, who if you asked any Sabre fan 3 weeks ago, would’ve probably agreed we are almost or as good as, did in fact beat the exact two teams we would’ve dreamed of beating

I see where you're coming from. I think they're playing a brand of hockey right now that allows them to beat Toronto and Boston, miraculously. I didn't see the Sabres play that way spare a few games this entire season.

I know I'm optimistic more than some would prefer but after watching how Florida played these guys, I really question if the Sabres had it in them to play like that.

Regular season and playoff hockey are two different games. Toronto wanted to play like the Sabres do and Florida kicked them in the teeth for it.
