Sounds like Lucic is signing for 900k. I like it

They might. Hathaway and Lucic would be a pretty well hated line. They are also losing a lot of veteran leadership this year. Could be a lot of kids playing in the bottom 6 next year. Let Lucic provide some protection. Hathaway is not a protector.

To be honest, one reason they lost that series was that Florida freely took cheap shots after the whistle and the Bruins just took it thinking they were taking the high road. It is hard for me to believe Gudas is taking those liberties if someone like Lucic was sitting on the bench.

Maybe that's not the NHL anymore but the Bruins let themselves get bullied in that series.

It's been a fundamental issue in the Sweeney era. 2019 was the same, The Blues beat them up and they folded. Nothing was ever done to address it. Just continue to draft undersized Hockey East players.

How do the Bruins not offer Bertuzzi what the Leafs offered?

They mailing it in and gonna rebuild?
If so they might as well see what Marchand can get on the market.

Do Bruins even have a blogger?

I do not understand how the bruins couldn't give Bert what he got. Ridiculous.

He’s a punk. He turns down 4 year deals because he wants more term and then signs a 1 year deal.

I have to imagine that Bertuzzi was never signing with the bruins or Detroit. He asked for way more than he’s worth then went and signed for less to play at home in Toronto.

Will be interesting to see how the Leafs manage their Cap.

Currently 8.8M over the cap.
They need to be compliant before the first game, and LTIR does not kick in until after that.

Next year the Bruins dont have a pick in the 1st 3 rounds? And they did not have a 1st round pick this year? Holy crap!

It's the price we were all willing to pay for the #lastdance. The B's will have a lot of cap space next year, and it is going to be a strong free agency class.

I was all for signing Bertuzzi but if he was asking too much, then see ya. Bye. He is a top free agent in a very weak class. Which means it would've been an overpayment.

Bruins are shooting for the wildcard with this lineup and it was going to be this way cup or not. Unfortunately they didn't get it done.

It will be an interesting year. They will still be better than everyone thinks and the defense will lead the way. Ideally, I would like another center but I'm Hoping the Lucic signing sparks the flame for Patrice to come back. We'll see.

In the meantime they still have Swayman and Frederick to lock up. As well as a handful of other free agents.

I have to believe they have another move coming to send out a D man. They signed Shattenkirk and have a logjam back there. If Lohrei pushes for a spot at camp there has to be a deal to make room for him. I would rather see him play than Zboril, Shattenkirk most others they have on the 3rd pairing.

I wouldn’t mind them taking a short term flyer on Tarasenko.

I don’t see them trading a dman unless they make a big deal with Calgary or Winnipeg

With just over 6m in cap space, not sure how they fit someone like Tarasenko in. Frederic and Swayman will likely eat up a good portion of the remaining cap. Sounds like they are more likely to see what they have in house before looking elsewhere.

Its probably going to be one of those years where they are a bubble team that maybe adds cheap depth at the deadline if they are in the hunt. Hopefully Monty brings more of his magic to this lineup next season. They are going to need it.

The same magic he employed in the post-season?

Ehh, hopefully not that haha. Regular season magic. Lets start with that and see if it even leads to the post season next year.

Hopefully Monty learned some things.

While I would be shocked if they won the division, I see the B's as a wildcard. Too many good guys on the roster for it to fall off of a cliff.

Me too. Hopefully Lysell, Beecher, Lohrei and Kuntar show something. Inn particular Beecher and Kuntar. Really need some centers. Or Poitras too.

Got a long shot bet on Harrison too. Likely wont be this year be he might be a bright spot up the middle.

Looks like McLaughlin just got resigned too. Would be nice to see any one of the young centers show enough to get an extended look out of camp.

So I'm guessing Anthony quit? Or else absolutely nothing has happened since the Bruins choked in the first round...

Probably. But it looks like they got someone to fill in.
