Well that's just absurd.

Haven't read through all the back comments so forgive me if this topic was discussed. But regarding Kane, can the Rangers sign him to a 1 yr deal, give him the surgery, and then LTIR him until the spring ala Kucherov?

Not saying they should but more wondering if the NHL address that type of cap management?

I believe they can. But they shouldn't

I don't love it or hate it. If anything let him sit unsigned and wait for him to heal. If he heals and looks like he could be impactful let him take a shot.

I don't know, how effective would he be not playing all year then thrown into a playoff game

He's done. He was fine when he was here. Didn't work. Move on. (I feel the same way about Tarasenko and I actually like him.) It didn't work. Do not run it back.

For sure, you're not wrong. It's also not like the time we drafted Dylan McIlrath instead of Taransenko or whatever. These guys were supposed to be layups.

Lends the question too of, how many years do you give a top prospect before they make an impact?

- evitageN

Like How Cam Fowler was a consensus top 3 pick and was still available and we decided to draft the human pylon that McIlrath is instead of a defensemen that would have immediately stepped into the lineup and never played a single AHL game over 12 plus seasons so far.

whenever that draft comes up in conversation I always say that I was screaming at my TV to take Cam Fowler, I was even yelling trade up for Fowler.

I never uttered the word Tarasenko that night

I disagree here. Obviously he has a hip issue. I'm sure acleptic can speak more to this on the medical side but it looked like his underlying problem was his inability to change direction and maintain any sort of speed. However, straight line speed was still there once he got going.

If they could fix this, and sign him for cheap, it might be something they consider.

hopefully whatever is done contract wise or anything else with K'Andre and Lafreniere is done relatively quickly so they can move on to other business

I think K'Andre might be a problem, Im sure his camp is well aware the Rangers once gave Brady Skjei 5.25 mil a year

Miller was horse poop though. Skjei was still trending up when he signed that deal. Miller had a negative impact on this year's first round and large parts of this past season as a whole.

Yeah I don't want a slower version of Patrick Kane soon to be 35 years old, very much on the decline. Get faster. Not slower.

Kane will probably get the same surgery that a bunch of other guys have gotten. The thing is, Roope Hintz and Erik Karlsson had age on their side. All these other guys who got it after 35 never came back to play. When I spoke to Jay Beagle when he was on my operating room table, I asked him what exactly it was that was bothering him about the core muscle/hip injury. His answer was that in any other sport when you go forward you push forward however what makes hockey unique is to go forward you push from side to side.

So if you think about how a hockey players stride is, its sort of a triangle. Leg forward, stride out to side, recovery. Think about all the torque within the hip all this causes.

What is a fair deal for both sides? 2-3 year deal? 3.5m per?

Dude has been on a tear since the calendar flipped to 2022.

Tim Gleason taking over as the Canes defense coach has worked miracles with him and Chatfield.

Gleason was also the one making regular visits to Harvard to work with Fox and make sure he was ready for the pro game.

Ungrateful sack of poop that he is.
