Its a draw for hockey fans, and yes, McD is a reason for that. Is it a big market? No, but atleast people in Canada will watch.
Imagine a Cup final with whats left if Oilers and Leafs are out? - aecliptic
I hope the final four are Dallas, Vegas, Florida, and Carolina. Back to the attic Canada. |

CF has the overages and bonuses calculated into the cap.
Im also calculating the cap at 84m. Theres a lot of chatter about the NHL having a financially successful year and there being a small chance it takes the big jump this year rather than next year. Im saying it doesnt take the big jump but it levels out at 84m. - aecliptic
I think if Toronto loses in this round, the Cap next season won't go up much at all. The playoff revenue is going to be less simply because the Bruins, Rangers and Maple Leafs are all out of the playoffs. You can't have the top 5 most valued franchises out of the playoffs and expect revenue to climb.
Lets face it --- nobody is going to pay BIG $$$ when small market teams are all that remain.... |

Dallas is a small market..I’m genuinely curious on your thought processes here - |

Some, not all. They’re causing catastrophic head injuries. That’s more important, to me, than anything else. It also has nothing to do with my preference for buying him out - picklerick
Keep your head up. If they were dirty hits I wouldn’t want him on the team, but they’re clean. Players have fallen into a false sense of security out there, it’s like when guys are retrieving a puck in the corner, see a player coming to hit them, and think if they face the boards they won’t get hit. |

Thats why I say its the standard 1m cap increase, with potentially another 500k due to the success of the regular season.
There wont be any money to be made in the playoffs. |

Dallas is the 5th largest sports market in America, however, how many of those people watch the Stars? |

Keep them on the cap and fill out the roster without subtracting the guys with nmc/ntc. I'm waiting...
Edit: and not just that, you completely absolved gallant from any blame for the failures. And then you literally blamed everything on kane. |

I have no problem with this move at all. I understand that the roster he had to work with was imperfect, but the fact is that he had a 2-0 series lead, Lindy Ruff and the Devils made adjustments, and he clearly couldn't make adjustments to their adjustments. If the goal is to win a Cup, that's a problem. |

The draft lottery is tomorrow.
Ducks are 1, Jackets are 2, Hawks are 3 to win it.
I have a feeling either the Hawks, Canadiens or Red Wings win the Bedard sweeps. I expect all these teams to move up. I dont expect the Ducks and especially not the Jackets to get Bedard. |

U should probably go back and read what I said about Kane after we got bounced from the playoffs, bozo.
I never said Gallant had no blame, but I think the bigger problem is the guys that dress every night rather than the coach behind the bench. This is 3 coaches in a row now for some of these guys, must be every single coach though and not the players. |

Never said u did, I understand why u want the buyout. My point was directly to u saying he makes hits that should be illegal. My counter to that is the hits are legal, and if guys don’t want to get hit like that they should keep their heads up and not feel like they can skate through the middle of the ice without getting hit. |

It’s not worth it to get into that discussion I only mentioned it because it’s like 50% of the things Trouba does for that $8m |

Really??? You were going on about kane for the entire series. You ought to get your memory checked out. And gallant has now been fired from 3 teams in 3 years or less, but tell me how he's not a big part of the failure. He literally got outcoached every game since game 2. He made zero in-game and game to game adjustments.
And how cute, did you think of bozo all by yourself? 🤔

I hated getting Kane, hated how he played and think he did nothing to help this team. With that being said, I said numerous times he was NOT the reason we lost that series. But keep going, bozo. |

If Dallas goes on to win the Stanley Cup, how many fans are going to go out and buy new jerseys, hats, t-shirts etc.? The answer: not as many as if the Rangers, Bruins or Maple Leafs win a Cup.
What company is going to pay top $$$ for commercial air time during the telecasts of the Cup Final if Dallas is in it? That's all part of the revenue stream that helps dictates the upper limit of the cap.
If you want the salary cap to go up you need the big market teams to go far in the playoffs. Unfortunately, it looks like it won't happen this year |
