how about #11 for blackhawks and OTT 2nd's for garland and Meyers? im sure KD is putting it out there he is open to moving or packaging some of the picks. |

Considering no one from 2019 has played 300 games? My point is if you are going to gauge 300 games played by 2nd rounders a fair measure would be to go back before 3 years to develop then at least another 4 years to actually be able to play 300 games so pre 2016 season.
10 players from 2010
12 from 2011
7 from 2012
7 from 2013
5 from 2014
7 from 2015 with a few close to 300 like Cernak, Sprong and Siegenthaler
Aho and Hintz drafted in that 2nd round as well.
Looks like 2014 was not such a good draft class, even then that number is 15%
According to Wiz this is the best draft class he's ever seen, if that's true than you realistically have a 30% chance of drafting a quality NHL player and the Blackhawks have 4 chances at it right now. - BetweenTheDots
Thanks for the analysis. I like it and this snapshot contradicts my numbers for sure. Going to have to get my Indian programs to run a deeper dive and get back on a 5,10,25 year look. Don't shoot the messenger but Pierre McGuire has a son this birth age and he was on Montreal radio saying that the top of this draft is above average but the rest of the draft is nothing special. Will have to look back in 10 years to make a final determination.

I was thinking of possibly acquiring Meyers too, but he has a 10 team NTC. With him at RD maybe Murphy would be expendable.

I wouldn't trade out of #44 ever.
#19, 35, and 44 are gold for controlling the hawks destiny because the only traded you use them for is to move lower down the board.
I wanted Myers when they took Beach, not now.
Murphy is a better all around player than Myers.
And I like Conor garland 40-50 point production annually but at 27 he is a luxury supplementary piece. |

Ah, two bags of wind.
You bringing your son, as I am sure he will be allowed at Legends Corner428 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203(Not Rippy's) to drink along NHL league vips, the same whiskey that dion Phaneuf was hammering down in that bar in 2003. |

Have to reach the cap floor and need some talent surrounding Bedard. And get a sweetener to boot to take on that 3 year contract. Win, win, win.

Oh I understand.
You might as well attempt to extract a higher priced guy.
He just seems the same type guys we have.
Why not the bigger salary of Brock Boesner where the Canucks get an extra 1.6 relief, if the goal is to get up to the bottom of the Cap? You are done with Boesner by the end of 2025 when Brock in close to 30.
Conor Garland's deal is a year longer less cap and he is two years older. |

I was curious so i thought i would use your 300 number and prorate it, so 2016 I'll go with 80 less games
7 players in the 2nd, stand out Kyrou and Cat and our very own Raddysh at about 150 games
160 games less 2018 only 4 for now. I also notice a big age for many of the pros who come on later is between 22 and 24 years old.
I also think these numbers are less because of the covid interruption. |

You know an ad came up in the middle and when it returned to the KD interview I guess it by passed that part about only one guy can have the puck at a time.
If Kyle Davidon thinks the centre position forever is locked and loaded with Nazar, Reichel and Bedard, I think he's overly optimistic.
I liked the narrative about how the organization has changed, very well constructed response, the guy can speak.
What bother me (and I know maybe KD cannot say who he is selecting, but I start to worry when I hear him come back around to the two centres after Bedard.
Maybe there IS a Lindros rejection coming that has not been made public through the Bedard family and the Blackhawks are aware off...I know, I worry, get anxious but either I just don't like the eloquence of Kyle's public speaking, but why after winning Connor Bedard, after I have perseverated on for three entire years for this to luckily happen, do I have to worry he is not coming? - wiz1901
Wiz,if there is a Lindros rejection coming, how soon you think the Blackhawks could expect it?
Does mgmt find out 1st through the family?
Or does the family leak it to some Canadian press like Bob McKenzie etc..?
I think I've seen a few places say that a lot of players in the NHL have heard good news about the Blackhawks. Not sure if it was here or somehwere else, but someone mentioned that Domi or someone said that the players get treated really well and that news spreads across the league etc... |

The most fun is when the casual fans leave and you get to saunter up to the likes of bob Mackenzie, Gordie, Burke, and Darryl Sutter and act like one of the Boyz.

Took a look at the 2012 draft, most of the big hits were in the 10-20 range
Galchenyuk at 3,Nail at 1 - yikes!
And then you look at the 2015 draft, the top 10 looks pretty good |

He is asked, "What something doesn't know about you?" and when we expect a Kyle Turris type "I love Batman comics," or the kid who had the Star Wars legacies down to a memorized bible of sorts, or a simple, "Well I love playing golf." or a "I am a big history buff." Connor Bedard's answer, is "Well people don'y know I played summer hockey too."
It is eerie almost Jonathan Toews-like.
If there WAS a team that you could use get out of first pick free card, it would be sighting past practices in his as that excuse.
I use hope I ma just being the nervous Nellie, and cannot wait until the pick is made.
So if we hear KD marveling about the other kids at #2 nd #3 at the prospect evalutions, I will continue my uneasiness, but for now, I am putting it to rest.

Pouring over all the press about what the Maple Leafs could/should do this offseason… the “Core Four”, GM, President, etc…
My take overall, while I thoroughly enjoy the TOR postmortem, more importantly… it makes so incredibly THANKFUL for what our team accomplished from 2009 to 2015. Our stars and leaders delivered when they were in the spotlight and the pressure was on - producing the golden era for Hawks hockey.
Toews, Kane, Hossa, Keith, Seabrook, Sharp, Hjalmarsson, Oduya, Bolland, Bickell, Shaw, Crawford, Saad, et al. There were no passengers, no questions about failing to perform in the post-season… the results were five conference finals appearances and three Cups.
I’m so VERY grateful to have seen all of it.
Edit: Oh, and by the way… we’re drafting a generational talent 1st overall this year. |

My guess was a the NHL wants to build suspense leading up to draft day so they told KD to mention other players besides Bedard in his interviews. |

Wiz, so who’s paying for the Hawks to take on Boeser? Hawks or Canucks? - Angotti
As long as we can move down in the draft, it doesn't matter if we take the Cap hit, and give late seconds in the swap to move up to slot #11.
If our Gm is trading picks I need to climb higher, b/c I like the idea of using all and developing guys with hits/or misses as their reality in the Steve Glencoe world.
Is Kyle so convinced that drafting a few of the eight makes us a freaking future contender?
Not me. |

The bigger question is how great Nyander would look on the Bedard wing for a year under seven million, while Kyles kiddie Corp regroups for it's onslaught of the NHL. |

Off topic: wasn't JJ at a site called the The-Rink b/c there is nothing withbhis name there...
I just went there and read the Hawks Chief scouts comments that, "We don’t know who’s going to be there because I think the board is going to go a little bit wacky after eighth or ninth, depending on if people take defensemen.”
I purposefully had one of my defenseman going off the board until #18, with the possibility that five get lucky enough to be chosen in the first round.
So my mock is loaded with the forward talent that deserves to be off the board before David Reinbacher, and Axel Sandin Pelikka.
I do agree there will be plenty of disparity in many teams top 32 list. There are so many factors that raises many of this year's class as worthy of being selected in the first.
Even if they are insecure at their prospects at defense being high pairing guys, I just don't see the need or value being addressed before you get more forwards.
