See Buffalo, Edmonton, Toronto or Philly. You talk in absolutes about rebuilds with no possible way of knowing you're right.

Flames not letting Treliving talk to any teams, probably because of the draft. He’ll be the next GM of the Penguins.
- K-man25

Let's see, Calgary and Pittsburgh are the only teams without a GM. Makes you go hmm.

Very much hoping for the Dubas-Tulsky/Ventura team up. Dubas throwing poop around the press box and mocking opposing fans would be a million times cooler than Burke sitting there pensively with an undone tie and muttering about truculence.

The fewer draft picks and prospects you have, the longer the rebuild will take. How about that? If you go into a rebuild with zero additional draft picks or prospects, it will take longer than if you sell off assets to accumulate additional draft picks and prospects. Seems like a pretty simple concept and not a stretch. But I understand if you are one of the typical Pens fans who doesn't want to let go of anyone for fear of disrupting the Farewell Tour.

"Just make the playoffs and anything can happen."

"We dominated the Rangers last year in the playoffs and they made it to the conference finals."

etc. etc. etc.

You can look up all of the delusions if you want. You seemed pretty locked in to your opinion so I'm not going to waste any more of my time.

Those aren't delusions. Every single player, coach and GM in the league thinks they have a chance if they make it in. Many 8th seeds have caused a lot of damage in playoffs over the years, some have won cups. Why aren't you involved with the league if everyone in it is delusional, and you're not? Fvcking hockey mastermind over there, just gracing us with your presence here.

I asked you a question about who your day one of playoffs favourites were last week and you wouldnt even answer it, like a coward, because it flew in the face of your sh! t narratives.

Everyone knows what went down in the last playoffs...Except you who's stubbornly sticking to their own narrative, while ignorantly mislabeling people, while also having no comprehension of what competitive means.

🤡 You have nothing, that's why once your ideas have counter ideas thrown at them, that make more sense than yours, you just come back with sh!t like this... Eat a Snickers.... weak. You haven't shown one true example of delusion, yet you want to say everyone is delusional.

You're so cool and smart. I wish I could be like you. Enjoy the "competitive" Penguins Farewell Tour. Maybe they can finish above .500 and have a positive goal differential next season when everyone is old AF.

Yeah I didn’t either. I remember hearing it at the end of the season during a game I think.

Both taken 8th overall, Alex is 2 years younger. One is a PPG player, the other is a fringe NHLer. Both had kind of similar stats leading up to the draft. Goes to show how difficult scouting and projections can be.

Treveling would be the ideal play. Darche or Tulsky would also be interesting but you never know much about their capabilities until interview time.

I can't understand anyone wanting Dubas for the Pens. For like 3 years in a row he was not able to address defence or goaltending and the Leafs just continue to blow it despite all of the talent. He has even had the benefit of being a big market team where players want to go. I just dont see how you can think he can get the Pens closer to a cup when he couldn't do it with the Leafs roster he has had.

Treveling feels like Rutherford redux. Obviously I understand the appeal after Hextal to get another gunslinger in but I’d rather modernize the FO. I’d much prefer him as hockey ops than gm if we go that rout.

The leafs remind me of pens-lite. A little softer than the prime pens. Big 4 instead of 3. I don’t know what a poho does but idk if I want dubas. Seems to similar to me.

Good points about Dubas. Paying 3 forwards $11M+ makes it tough to fill out the rest of the roster, especially when you've been "going for it" for about the past 6 years or so. He definitely made some bad bets in goal. Defense not much better. Good call.

Yeah, they've been mirroring each other for a while. I agree, I'd like to see the Pens go in a different direction style-wise.

For each of the past 3 years, he's made moves to make his team better even with 33% of the cap tied up in 3 players.

I dont believe in punishing the GM because the star players that make big money decide to go missing in the important moments.

Honestly, the Leafs shouldnt have signed Tavares or else they should've traded one of Nylander or Marner. They could've followed a Penguins model of a top 1C and 2C punch with solid bottom 6 depth. Having those 4 players pretty much be your team wasnt going to work if even 2 of them didnt show up in a series. Versus Florida, only 1 of them did.

I dont agree with this narrative. I think you're still running with the Leafs narrative of 4 years ago. He added lots of pieces, both on forward and D, that had them as one of the better team defense teams in the league and had them as one of top 5 on 5 teams this past season.

At 5 on 5:

4th lowest goals against
2nd lowest high danger area goals against
7th best SV%

All situations:

7th lowest shots against a game
7th lowest goals against

Special teams:

12th best PK

None of this is to mention the offense side of things where they were top 5 to 10 in pretty much every single stat and metric regarding it along with the 2nd best PP in the league.

The NHL is a crazy place, man. The cup is crazy hard to win. Look at the Bruins...best regular season of all time, gone in 1st round. Look at the Panthers, won the Presidents trophy then swept in 2nd round last year. This year they just sneak in as 8th seed, almost swept the second round and are now in the final 4. Look at the Penguins, they had stronger (on paper) rosters in other years than the cup winning years and were bounced in 1st or 2nd round...or swept in the 3rd round.
