Coyotes move to Salt Lake City
Expansion teams in Houston, Atlanta - BINGO!
I keep seeing that poop being hinted at too. Why? It's failed twice their. Enough. Georgia doesn't care about hockey. |

Attendance wasn't great in Atlanta but they averaged just shy of15K per game for their lifespan.
Biggest issue was an 8-headed ownership group that was so busy suing itself Don Waddell didn't even get a budget some years. They did a ton of video scouting because there were years where he had no budget to send scouts to games.
Attempts to make player moves were sometimes approved by one owner and vetoed by others. It was a mess. There was zero marketing budget by the end.
The league more or less forced the sale to go through just to keep the team from folding entirely under the weight of endless lawsuits.

I agree Atlanta probably shouldn’t have a team but I heard they said the arena back then sucked so that’s why they moved to the Peg. So maybe they’ll have a better arena now, I’m not sure if the Hawks have a new one 🤔
Quebec I remember always sucked and once they were good (Sakic days) they moved I went to the playoffs at MSG vs the Nords, I think ‘95, and was this close to catching a puck. Damn thing tipped my finger |

How bad is that darnell nurse contract looking right about now. Full nmc and what 7 years at 9.25mill a year. Seems like half the team is locked up long term but mcdavid and Draisaitl - bonzo11
how does this guy get this contract! Way too much if you want to build a stanley cup team |

Shoulda Coulda Woulda.
Othmann looks like he will be a stud, not upset about that pick...yet.
We could have drafted Roope Hintz over Ryan Gropp. |

The Rangers have done an absolutely ATROCIOUS job drafting in the 2nd round.
Halverson - Goalie, terrible (not many good picks after him, Foegele Sorokin within 20 picks)
Gropp- F, terrible (immediate picks after him Blackwood Cernak and Hintz Greenway Lauzon R. Andersson Trenin Dunne Seigenthaler all taken in the 2nd after Gropp)
Oolaf - Goalie, terrible (McLeod Wilde Drury Marchenko Bahl all taken shortly after)
Robertson - Dman, still hope
Henrikkson - F, terrible
Cuylle - F, best 2nd round pick so far |

I’ll grab a leftover team. I usually take Edm but they’re without a first.
Speaking of Edmonton, Draisitl has to be on the table to be moved. What would it take to get? I think it starts with Miller and Laf, should we go there? I think he’s capable of great things with Panarin. Goodrow would also have to be involved for the money to even out some. If we can’t trade Panarin we need at least get the best out of him, so maybe it’s Leon
But something like
Laf
Miller
Goodrow
First rd pick(s)
Goodrow could be a good addition for them as muck and grinder player. I doubt he’d refuse a trade there since they are close.
Just another cockamamie idea I have! - Slimtj100
Does this seem like a realistic trade for one of the best players in the world? |

I think you’re right, but I think EDM needs to seriously consider it with someone. They need to balance out that lineup and Nurse isn’t going anywhere. Maybe a team like NJ could swing it, Mercer Nemec Bahl multiple 1sts+. |

Short answer probably not. There’s zero chance they replace his production. With that said they need to add some depth through their lineup on the back end and bottom 6. They are going too have a real tough time doing that with whatever they wind up paying him. That’s even if he wants too stay to begin with. |

They desperately need prospects to pan out and yeah trading away arguable the best value non ELC isn’t going to fox anything for them. |

Yep and now they are in the position where prospects actually panning out for them becomes more of a crap shoot then anything due to where they are in the standings. That’s without even factoring in trading away picks at the deadline. They would need two blue chip prospects, some first rd picks, and a legit first line roster player in return. Not sure if there’s a team that would come close to that kind of return. The Devils like the other poster mentioned probably could come close but would it make sense for them? |

You don't get out of cap hell by trading the best value contract in the league. They're in a tough spot no doubt but Leon making $8.5 is very far from the issue |

Exactly, the arent trading the 2nd best player in the world with the best valued contract ever. Its that simple.
They will continue to plug and play as they go along. |
