NHL NETWORK-1/4 finals not showing USA or Canada games tomorrow..WTF.
The schedule shows
Germany vs Swiss
Latvia vs Sweden
Great that Latvia made it in, but these are not the matchups for TV...
Where have you gone Arturs Kupaks, the first Latvian player I saw in the ECHL with the Chesapeake Icebreakers from Riga, Latvia.

Why would they do that? Didn't they consult the keyboard warrior experts on Flyers Buzz before making such a rash decision? |

Some said feltcher was GM of the year a few years ago. I wouldn't take the almighty wisdom from the flyersbuzz chat either.

Dubas, Darche and Botterill seem to be the finalists. |

I saw a comment on the last blog about it not being a big deal that the Flyers new POHO is working his second job doing the playoff games because there’s nothing for him to do right now anyway. Seems to me a guy starting a new job, that he has no previous experience doing, would have plenty to do right now. I know that Jonsey is a gladiator, a hockey genius and the hardest working guy in the business, but seems to me he doesn’t have time to waste if he’s serious about fixing this mess. |

What's the urgency? He should book a trip to the Carribean for a few weeks. He could do some instagram posts from his beach chair on the Flyers being the gold standard of the NHL. |

He is still doing his old job because his new one doesn’t have much to do outside of being a PR mouthpiece for the Flyers rebrand.
Sure, he will be there for the other two members of the triumvirate but other than that, not much to it.

Reading it now, but it appears to be an ownership group that pivoted from the original plan Hextall was hired to do. Sound familiar? |

Sure, perfectly normal for your first act as president of a company to be taking a few weeks off. Maybe watching some video of him tying his shoelaces in his million dollar house will make me feel better? |

Sadly for the Flyers, the subject experts in charge back in 2019 decided that Clarke's little buddy Chuck was a better option for GM than Barry Zito.
Since Zito took over Florida in 2020, they have the 5th best regular season record and the 5th best postseason record. In that same period the Flyers are ranked 26th in the regular season, and missed the playoffs three times in a row.

I could see this argument if what he was still doing wasn't "hockey related" (ie: still running his farm) but it could be flipped and said he has the best seat in the house to scout other successful teams and see what is working in the playoffs. 2 sides to the coin.
We're just splitting hairs with this.

He was hired to break up the big three and rebuild. The owners had a change of heart and mandated that he sign Geno and Letang and retool on the fly instead. Hilarity ensued. |

Yeah, it sucks for him that Florida didn't have a goalie going nuts last summer and only had one player on the team who outscored 34 year old Giroux. But he's probably more miffed about the 14 years he spent in Philly while the boobs in charge failed to put together a contending team around him. |

yet in those years he never asked to be moved, wonder why that is? |

Hired to break them up yet he never did? Wouldn't that have been the first order of business?
is this article Hextall giving his side of the story? Was he interviewed?

I don't think it's splitting hairs at all. If he wants to go to the games he can go in his capacity as president. He can do all the schmoozing he wants as president. Are you saying he's gaining some kind of advantage, that other team presidents don't have? Doesnt seem likely. This just makes me feel like he isn't serious about his new job or that the job itself isn't serious. I don't think, when they announced him as president, they said he'll start his job after he finishes up working the playoffs. |
