Yes great experience could translate well to form new Krak core. Who slots in where and when?

That's going to be the thing. You look at for me Kartye proved he could play up and have a big impact, Wright has an outside chance, McCormick has looked very good and is a center too. And Evans and Oloffson on the back end there. Evans could be huge.

Thing is there is no need to rush any of the prospects either. It's also why that flyer fan with the supposed Konecky trade doesn't make a whole lot of sense. We have 8 forwards with a NTC/M-NTC, 3 defence the same, and both goalies. Now Wennberg and Eberle have 1 more year on their contracts so coming up I think they will end up out. Have to figure Dunn is getting paid and likely gets some sort of NTC/M-NTC as well. 10 forward spots are locked already, 11 if we sign and keep Geekie. I can see Kartye being in the lineup. McCormick maybe comes in if they put Geekie to the wing as 4C given you have Benny, Wennberg, and Gourde ahead of him up the middle.

Francis already said he is not going all win now making massive moves so expecting some smaller ones. I think Donato and Sprong up front are likely gone.

Back end, Evans and Oloffson could factor in given we have Dunn, Soucy, and Borgen needing contracts. Schultz also only has a year left too. If Dunn signs, and we bring back one of Borgen or Soucy, we still have only 5 d there. One of the two prospects maybe and sign a cheap 7th guy could be done there.

Honestly think it is going to be a slow drip and drab of young guys coming into the team over the next couple years as the older guys come off the NTC/M-NTC contracts.

Another interesting little stat

We have 1 drafted player, 9 signed players, 1 waiver player, 2 traded for players, and 12 expansion selected players. THAT is how the roster has been constructed.

Ron went big on UFA additions last season to retool the group, and we absolutely got a steal and lucked into Tolvanen on waivers. Bjorkstrand was added via trade as was Megna.

Amazing when you have cap room how you can jump on a Tolvanen on waivers. That’s why I think Soucy is gone and one of the young D from the Calder run will make take his roster spot.

Keep room for making a trade for a team needing cap relief. Then moving one of the expiring contracts out by the TDL to a desperate contender with LTIR space like the Canes.

More teams desperate to go for it next season so okay to take step back and take advantage.

That's the only downside I see, is the moving guys at the TDL. We likely are not moving the young guys, but the older guys most of them have the NTC/M-NTC so not as easy to move them out.

I expect we will still be competitive and be going for playoffs, but don't see Francis going nuts either. I think a couple low key adds from UFA and our prospects being added in really is where we are at. 20mil with Dunn and the rest to sign, and like you said you want that cap space still in place for moves too.

Tough 3-1 loss tonight.

Firebirds opened the scoring with a Shane Wright tally but gave up 2 in the 2nd and another in the 3rd.

Still lead the series 2-1

Game 4 7pm tomorrow night Coachella vs Milwaukee.

Hayden cleared waivers and reported to Coachella as well.

Soucy very complimentary of his usual d pairing in Borgen. Added, "I'll definitely take a couple of weeks away from working out and then kind of ease back into it. I love this group. We've battled for two years together, and we're growing some here, so obviously I'd love to stay."

Hard to see both back but never know if they can get it done at a decent price with both of them and Dunn. Then Geekie.

Bad game tonight. Admirals pounded Coachella 5-2 and tie the series at 2-2

From up 2-0 to dropping both road games. Best 2 outta 3 now.

For some fan bases the off season is the best time of year. I guess the Krak fans are more into the thrill of winning games.
