How do we know there is nothing wrong with the current analytics department? What is the evidence of that. It is their responsibility to develop and provide data that would convince end users that changes need to be made. If the Flyers are basing what data they generate on the end users requests. They're doing it wrong. - MJL
This might be my favorite post on FlyersBuzz, the arrogance is unmatched š. The guy claiming dinosaurs are running the show. Why in the world would those āDinosaursā use any beneficial data from a new age process. You think your boy Bill Barber cares about expected goals? |

lol....fn insane how much of a parking lot that turns into. Fn CT drivers are terrible.
holiday weekend to boot.
might also be my last visit to Katz deii. Corn beef is excellent as I always stop bring a few pounds home.

I can see it now. The Flyers draft this guy with the 7th pick in the draft and he never sets foot on North American soil, and all the people pleading to take him with this pick complain that they took him with that #7 pick. Can't make this stuff up!
- Phillywhiteout
Yep, and with the the Flyers luck, this could actually happen! |

Lol I can see the dinosaurs right now perusing the date and discussing analytics as they prepare for the draft. |

50% of the drivers here aren't even from CT. Go one more state north and those are the worst drivers. Mass holes.

The so called arrogance that you claim is unmatched is far exceeded by the stupidity and childness of your reply. You still don't get it that there have been no claims that Barber, Clarke, Holmgren etc, are running the show. |

To be fair isn't that what the Flyers are missing...another winger playing out of position who may or may not bring scoring? Maybe the Flyers can play a new system, the right wing trap...overload the side and keep the rest of the ice empty. We do it on defense, why not forward too. - Glak18
I won't disagree with any of this. I honestly don't see rhyme or reason why this franchise does the things that it does, from top to bottom. |

We will have people on here complain no matter what. We could win the Stanley Cup one year and people would female dog that we won it in 6 ganes instead of 5 games.

I can say with complete confidence that 98% of the complaining would go away if the Flyers win the Cup. Whether it's in 5,6 or 7 games.

Ordinary Russians, dissidents, etc are still able to find a way out under the present conditions. Michkov has a higher profile (and undoubtedly people will be watching him) but where there's a will (and money), there's a way. Probably easiest would be when SKA travels to Minsk during the KHL season, where he'll be a short drive away from a friendly NATO border.
Ofc that's assuming he wants to play in the NHL that badly. - Tomahawk
Hmmm ...it sort of depends on the scale of their dissidence.
https://data.ovdinfo.org/...time-repressions-report#4
It might not be just the issue of managing to get him over. Multiple possibilities of attritional aggravation by Kremlin after that. Suppose:
1. He comes over, does well, US-Russia relationships worsen further and suddenly, there are 'irregularities' found in his papers causing him to be detained in Russia over xmas break and miss parts of season.
2. He gives a statement not supportive enough of Putin/Orthodox Church. Family back home harassed, his play goes south.
3. He is too supportive of Putin/not critical enough: he is booed at different arenas/questioned by journalists repeatedly, pressure takes a toll, play dives.
4. Sister/cousin/close relative joins dissident group (unrelated to Michkov). Jailed. Mitvai decides he needs to be closer to home to support them and prevent endless hassle of travel bac and forth.
Don't use the time period post 1989 Mogilny to extrapolate to present. Things are far worse now, and will likely get much more bad in the short to intermediate future.
You mentioned that no family lines are being extinguished. But there has been at least 1 report that Michkov's dad was trying to get his son out of the KHL 3 year gig to come over faster when he suddenly died.
Indeed, there are usually 3-4 mysterious high profile deaths involving Russians during a given year.
Now there are many, many more.
EDIT: For xmas, sub any break. Summer/all star etc etc |

Is Dave Brown a legitimate Head of scouting? Judge of talent?
Seems like the Flyers wonāt leave the model of all ex-players are welcome in the key positions |

I'd just add that Dave Brown is the head of pro scouting. Not all of scouting. |

Correct left that outā¦.Iām a big Flyers fans but the loyalty/chrony-ism seems problematic.
The Oilers did it for 20+ years and it did not work. Ex players are not magically the best person for a job on your team |

There is plenty in that article that I don't agree with. Especially this.
"Today, you saw on the hockey side, you saw Keith and you saw Torts, but there's more than that. Our staff, everybody's going to have their say and at the end of the day, we're going to discuss and the three of us are going to find a way to get to the best answer or the best solution when it comes down to it. I couldn't feel better about it. I'm really ecstatic." |

Minnesota drivers arenāt too bad since they get a lot of driving in the elements. California is really bad. But the worst for me is Oregon. Everybody drives the speed limit. When you donāt, the other drivers work together to force compliance. |
