Sens Interest in Joel Farrabee. Should the Flyers be looking to move this kid? His talent is undeniable….But he has lacked consistency at times….and has had a hard time staying healthy.

If true, I am jumping to conclusions (cue Office Space gif), but I’d assume it’s because he isn’t a Torts guy. He was on team Hayes. I’d personally trade Koneckny first and tell Torts to pound sand. 3 year plan here. Everyone get on the same page or get off the bus.

I think it has more to do with the Sens trying to replace deBrincat. Agree, Farabee didn't like the Hayes move, but these kids shouldn't be questioning personnel moves, they should focus on doing their jobs. The 3 players the Flyers moved on from had the most struggles defensively. To a lesser degree Provorov, who was asked to play too many minutes. This was the targeted clean up effort based on time spent by Danny & Torts analyzing gaps in play. Something that Fletcher did not do.

I agree that this would be created by the Sens and not Flyers. I don’t think, and didn’t mean to insinuate, they are trying to move Farabee, but listening on everyone. I think they’d be more open to trading the young player as the article about Farabee losing a mentor and friend in Hays raised some hairs on the back of my neck. From the Flyers standpoint, i think they get much more for TK and he is older (less likely to be in his prime when they are competitive again). It’s a no brainer to me to trade him over Farabee if folks come with solid offers.

This really depends on the return.
Moving out that contract is appealing, but so is the upside of his game...

Me, I don't move him and give him another year to settle in from his surgery.

IF and I mean IF this is even a true rumor I'd let farabee have w full training camp and get back to his potential rather than selling low.
I don't see any reason why they'd move farabee though. His age fits the timeline of this rebuild.
Ottawa would have to make an overpayment for me to consider letting bee go at this stage.

Hayes and Angelo were moved because Tortorella wanted them moved. There are plenty of other players who struggled defensively that didn't make Tortorella's list. So it is not accurate to say those players were targeted in the "clean up" for that reason.

Fletcher main focus seemed to be trade away draft picks and sign players to long term deals.
It makes sense to me to involve the coach in decisions. I’m with you in assuming Danny and Torts were assessing the players in their press box time at the end of the year and came to a consensus on who stats and who goes.
I hope they stick with the plan but make adjustments as players develop, plateau or decline. I hope LeClair and Sharp fix the development part.
