I have seen a lot of talk about PTOs. The only one I would look at is Khaira. For many toughness reasons, a player that battles in front of the net, and also he would be a fan favorite with the East India community.

I don’t know if he’d really bring toughness, perhaps narcolepsy awareness? Most times the guy fought the last couple of years he seems to end up sleeping.

Rumor Dahlin will be extended 8 x 10.5 that sounds about what Petey should get.
- VANTEL

Petey is getting a LOT more than that, whether it's from us or from someone else, he wants the max deal for sure.

They don’t need him. Look for Jermaine Loewen (ex blazer) to fill that role. 👊

That ship sailed the second Matthews signed. IF he stays, it's going to start with a 12 in my opinion.

Yup especially with another 100 plus point season. As long as it’s less than 12% of the cap it’s fine to pay your top player.

He is a better fighter than Podkolzin
- VANTEL

Podz’s role is not to fight but he will muck it up. Let’s see how his production goes this season. He’s still developing.

What RSD could the Canucks sign to a PTO? Is depth possible with cap constraints or are they moving Myers?

Took his one top ten hit and created a lifestyle brand with restaurants, retirement villages, cruises, clothing, and blenders. Brilliant marketing.

Seemed like a good guy though.

The #sens have signed D Jake Sanderson to a whopper extension: 8 years x $8.05 million, for a total of $64.4 million, that kicks in during 2024-25 season.

- VANTEL

That’s premature but guess they wanna lock him in & be done. If healthy I really like the looks of the Sens. Same as the Sabres. The big question mark is what they’ll both get outta the goalies.

Let's not ruin the 4th line mocking bust narrative. K

Maybe. They do have a good list of players locked up with term and no one close to 10 mil.

It seems insane to pay like that right out of an entry level deal. Apparently Ottawa is not a fan of the bridge deal.

...from an article ranking the Pacific Division..

Somehow, Vancouver's front office will run back more-or-less the same type of roster as they had last season. You can see why Canucks fans are always close to full-on rage as they watch another exercise in mediocrity year after year.

...there's more...

If they do miss out on the post-season for the fourth straight season, the Canucks’ rationalizations for keeping the lineup together will fall flat for Vancouver fans and media. They’re beyond sick of being a mushy middle group, and it’s only a matter of time before some of their key veterans ask out and force a full-on rebuild on them.

Bridge deals are like dial up modems, no one uses them anymore.

Some teams are going shorter higher contracts, Ottawa seem to be going longer cheaper. Not many teams going long and high. Petersson may change that.

A positive that I can see on the horizon is there are 9 UFAs this year finally. If things are done right they can change half the team after this year.

We signed Pettersson to a bridge deal...

Sanderson has played 77 games in the NHL. What if he Phanuefs himself? That's a long contract for a short audition.

We signed Petey a few years back during the flat cap. That threw a wrench into how teams played out contracts.

There are a few teams signing Bridge Contracts, Bouchard, Frost. I think when the cap jumps up you will see GMs spending foolishly again.

I for one am not a fan of a contract over five years.
