I don’t understand it. I know he’s not a 1-on-1 player but giving up open ice to stop skating and wait for something else to materialize makes no sense. He’s not even drawing the defenseman in.

Its mind boggling. It causes so many turnovers.

You'd think they'd work on that?

The results of these games don't matter too much. But How before the 1st pre-season game are both the #1 C and the top prospect both injured? Cursed sports city.

Settle down...this isn't the NY Jets preseason/camp. All will be okay...

Any injuries in a scrimmage results in the player sitting out. Could be a strain or an itchy hemroid...precautions are always top priority in camp. My concern would be if he had a past history of an arm injury, but I don't recall if he does or not. Reoccurring past injuries are always worrisome. I don't think that's the case here, though.

Thank goodness I'm a casual NBA observer and don't root for the Knicks or Nets. I can't take any more losing/bad luck. Giants, Rangers, and Yankees are enough for me.

I couldn't tell you one thing about the NBA so I guess I should have put an asterisk on my statement because the NY NBA teams could be the greatest teams in the history of the sport and I wouldn't know.

But yes, we are fans of the same teams (minus the obvious) and I feel the same way

(The Knicks & Nets are stuck in the endless middle of the NBA. Not bad enough to draft a superstar and not good enough to win a championship.)

Hard to fault the team when they didn’t show up to the arena until about 40 mins before puck drop. Like others said don’t care about results, team played hard. But I do care about individual players, and really need to see more out of laf if he is gonna warrant the top 6 ice time and powerplay time he wants

Here’s a nice surprise for you all this morning: Mika Zibanejad is on the ice, albeit in a red non-contact jersey #NYR

Upside: Doesn't seem that bad.

Downside: My brain convincing me he'll be out a month.

Do remember Gallant is gone. His day-to-day status updates always meant a three week hiatus for players. New sheriff in town, so maybe d-2-d is actually a daily thing now

Gallant is just like most coaches. They get away with saying nothing. I'll accept the fact that NHL coaches will never give out injury specifics. But just be honest with the time line.

I think the only time coaches get even somewhat honest with the injury reports is when someone needs to be called up and/or place a player on IR. Rangers GMs are infamous for this since they never placed anyone on IR...ever.
