I really don't know what this lineup is going to look like opening night. One of Wahlstrom or Gauthier is going to end up in the press box and possibly both once Palmieri is healthy.

Christ, I don't think Holmstrom is really a lock either. I'd be real interested to see if Wahlstrom could play his off-side at LW and go with Barzal/Horvat

I'm so ready to see some of these kids for a little while at least. You do not have the injury problems with them for the most part. It's a constant worry with players like Casey, Cal, MM, Lee, and Palms.

Definitely some more competition in the lineup this season. Or, at the very least, it seems. I hope of a player like Gauhtier makes a push they are really given an opportunity. Wahlstrom should be given every opportunity to succeed imo. Gauhtier is definitely my dark horse pick to make an impact. He has a lot of what this team lacks. Really hoping he puts it together with us.

He wouldn't be the first player to show up here and then finally put it all together. But he's fast and draws a lot of penalties (which may be a bad thing with this PP ) and he definitely can be useful.

I thought it was pretty ridiculous that I read yesterday that the islanders, for the first time so far, were practicing their PP. I get it you can’t read too much into stuff like this but they should be practicing their PP every god damn (frank)ing day at this point.

I’ll assume it’s probably because the vast majority of the players wouldn’t be in their starting lineup but how many times have we read this the last few years?

He's been given multiple chances on that top line and has yet to hold that spot. Idt Lee will be there I think he's going to be on the 3rd line but time will tell. Hopefully a full year of horvat and barzal will help this team score more especially the pp

Not sure if he’s a fit with Barzal but he better find a way to be a fit somewhere.

He's got the size, speed and shot, and plays a physical style from what I've seen and read from Lambert. Gotta think he could pot 20-25 just cleaning up 13 & 14's garbage! Might be wishful thinking, but I'd give it a shot.

From the projected line up for yesterday's (now today's) game, I think Holmstrom was going to get another shot with 13 & 14. I'd love for him to get going too. I hope I'm wrong, but he doesn't seem to have progressed to much from last year.
