As we start to jettison all the young underachievers, look for them to go elsewhere and flourish. They’ll be properly slotted and supported by better players. Part of the issue has been that we haven’t been able to build depth and have had to throw these guys into roles that they weren’t ready for. - Hextall271
Who exactly are the young under achievers we are getting rid of? |

They weren’t necessarily super young but sharp. Bob. I’ll try to think of more. Richie and carts went on to have great success when it comes to cups but they had some success here. |

Is jettisoned the same as traded or does it mean let go?

Damn that is a ton of examples. Sharp is the only one and that was what 15-20 years ago?

Bob asked to be traded. He did not want to be the backup to Bryz.

Maroon was a problem and had to be moved. It was the right call.

I don't think we have enough to start sending them away. Said it before, would've preferred to keep Provie and trade sanhiem. don't like his new contract, but seemed like provie also wanted out, and to play for a winning team. none of the younger guys recently have done much since leaving.
NAK, yes won the cup, but has bounced around a little and has been a fill in.
Ratcliffe-on a pto with st.louis.
Myers- getting waived and playing those top minutes in the AHL
Patrick-no even playing, doesn't have a contract.
Bunnaman-not even sure
Rubstov-hasn't played for florida that i know of
not sure who else there is if any

Sharp is the only one i can think of a young guy they gave up on/cut/waived/traded for nothing that went on elsewhere and had success. Also there is no on who thought sharp would have that great a career. Either way a bad trade. |

Well, if we are going back that far I would include Justin Williams.

that's in hindsight. he was traded for a d man (markov) to be able to step in and help with the cup run that year. in hindsight didn't work out as planned.

Not big for Torts. I heard he even is not in the buildings. - THE EVIL WITHIN
Wasn't that a thing with Torts in VAN because he chose to live across the border? Guy would just delegate practices and team functions to his assistants so he could stay home lol. |

Why? that was a pure hockey trade. Flyers needed a top 4 dman and were cup contenders. You need to give to get. No issue with that trade at all.

The team was frustrated with his mounting injuries and the plateauing of his development at the time. It was a hockey trade for an immediate need, but there was still the aspect of pulling the plug on him as a potential future building block. |

Yeah. I get it. But my thought is we messed it up. It’s all in hindsight. That’s the way it’s looked at. In hindsight some would say the lindros trade was a mistake. I don’t as that was the last time we’ve had a generational talent that energized the fan base. Still my 2nd all time favourite flyer and very close to my 1st. Point is it’s all in hindsight. |

He was not jettisoned though. Bryz has a huge contract. But yes Snyder went for the shiny object and lost Bob.
