It's even simpler than that. 3rd line and 2nd line players don't produce as consistently as 1st line level players. Therefore, the overwhelming majority of NHL players are inconsistent. Since there are far more 2nd, 3rd and 4th line players for that matter than there are 1st line level players.

Putting Pasta on the level of McDavid is incorrect. It's McDavid and everyone else. To say there is nothing special about him is an emotional opinion because you probably hate the Bruins.

Pasta's production might dip slightly without Bergeron sure. That's not exactly a hot take there big shot. He worked well with Zacha there is is chemistry there. The real drop is losing Taylor Hall. Hall's passing and playmaking is underrated. Boston's most inconsistent guy would be DeBrusk. With him slotted on that line, there will be dips. He is a very streaky and is essentially a passenger when not scoring.

As for Konecny he is a really good player on a brutal team. Of course he would see an uptick in production with better players. Another piping hot take.

A little late to the party on this one, but all I have to say is that game was poorly officiated. On one of Mahomes' scrambles near the end (on 3rd and forever) there was a hold as clear as day. Mahomes scrambles for 20 some yards for a first down. I see the flag graphic and think they got it. Nope, instead they call a ticky tack hold against the Jets.

I'm no Jets fan, but I wanted the Chiefs to lose that game.

The reality is that consistency should be on a year to year deal. Does a player consistently produce similar numbers year after year.
