Bedard vs Crosby tonight, I'm interested to see how the kid performs against his idol. Any bets on how many points he gets? - Dave21Brown
goal and an assist, scores the winner in the shootout.

funny that some will point to him as the problem, like the organization was doing wonders before.

Tippett is the real interesting trade piece at the TDL. - mickel25

a playoff team gives us a deal that's too good to pass up? |

I"ve actually never seen him play before so I don't know what to expect but you don't get picked first overall for no reason. |

I just don't see them trading a young scoring forward who fits their time for a rebuild. I can see TK, Atkinson or Laughton being traded, but doubt a young guy like Frost or Tippett gets moved.
I heard a podcast, Flyers daily, with a Marc Staal interview, and he did mention that when he signed he was told he will be moved to a contender at the trade deadline, if Staal wants to try for a cup again. He said he is there for limited games, and to mentor the young players and be a person of support to them. he knows his role here and that he can get out if he wants. |

Maybe. But I think most playoff teams at best can give you a lower first round pick. And what else, a prospect that probably isn't as good?
For sure you do it for a great deal. I just don't see them out there.

I would definitely consider. He would command a big return. Not saying they should trade him. They should 100% listen to any offers.

They should listen to any and all offers, but they don't have to take them. I think it would take a lot to get Tippet. He scored almost 30 last year on the one of lowest scoring teams in the league. A pick is just a pick until the player blossoms, if they do, and are never guaranteed to hit expectations. I think it would take a first, and a bonafide prospect on an NHL that has top 6/ top 4 potential. But then, that asks the question as to why a competetive team would give up that kind of package for a top 6 forward. I just don't see the sense of it for both teams. |

I think that holds true for anyone in their lineup that's played more than five NHL games. |

For a #30 overall pick and a top 4-9 forward? No, I don't think I would. Having Tippet scoring almost 30 on the second line as a seasoned vet behind Michkov, Cutter and their 3rd would almost be like having Brind'Amour's scoring presense on the second line.
Of course, if this were a top 5 overall pick, with a bonafide top 3 forward or a top 2 dman prospect coming back, you take the deal. Depends on what class prospect and how high the #1 pick would be. |

I have some doubts that Tippett would be able to score at that level on the second line.

what a shock. Didn't see that happening at all. Danny the puppet - hello it's me 2050
I’d almost view the cates line as the first line. Coots and Farabee coming off injury with a rookie? The veteran heavy , out of respect! What a Franking clown show |

There was nothing wrong with the approach last season with Zamula? Keeping him in the press box well into the season, not playing?
Same kool aid. Can't rush kids too quickly. Keep sending them down. Keep bringing on more vets. I'm sure there will be some more McEwen's and Brown's to hit the waiver wire soon that they can bring in and play over the NHL young talent they have. - MJL
This is a complete miscatagorization. Zamula played 11 games with the Flyers during Oct-Nov last year, practiced with the team and got to work with Shaw also. Then he was sent down to the Phantoms where he played big minutes for them, up to 27 minutes per game. It obviously helped him since this year he looks ready for the NHL. Sometimes seeing the game from above is really good for a young player. |

Why not? He will play about the same number of minutes as the Couts line and will be on the first PP unit. |

I will eat some crow. It took an injury to Risto but they injected some youth. The kids earned it and the club was honest to their word. Happily wrong about not playing the kids. - coffee junkie

Finishing last a season ago did not help Anaheim get Bedard did it? The time to finish last was last season. This year it's time to start building something. |
