Demidov will most likely drop within the top 15, outside of it wouldn't be shocking either. Just because he was a teammate of Michkov does not mean the Flyers should take him. Same issues, not the same talent.
Lottery picks will be constant whether it's Eiserman or Celebrini. Outside those 2 picks Flyers should be targeting a defenseman depending how they play (odds favorite right now is Levshunov who is playing in NA). I wouldn't be upset if they ended up with Catton who has great speed and probably the best playmaker in the bunch. - Glak18
We very much need to start drafting high level D then next few drafts with the hopes of hitting on a true #1 D. They are like unicorns in the league.. |

I really don't know if this year has that true #1, but my best guess for that future top pairing guy would be Levshunov or Richardinson. Although Silayev is sneaking into the conversation and at 6'7... |

Top pair guy is a good start but take a few swings here. The forward corp has some help coming but as you know, we need that stud dman to build around and most teams also don't have one. That's a real void as we build a contender. |

Well it's either getting that #1 pick when there's a stud defenseman, getting a sneaky good one picked later or trading for one a young one that blossoms.
Also getting an Eiserman or Celebrini would also allow them to trade off some overflow from the forwards to hopefully get that guy, hopefully.

absolutely. d is our biggest weakness at the moment. we have a few forward prospects who could be legit, but won't matter if we have no defense.
York seems legit, bonk hopefully. Andrae looks to have a future, but that is it. definitely need a number 1.

was my point earlier, if the group takes a step forward, the kids play, the Flyers can trade from their depth positions and re-shape the team, LD, RW and goal. You can see now with Andrae and Zam coming and there is 3 more behind them, then they draft for a top D, still have Sanheim and York, some will have to be moved over the next 1-3 years

Maybe but at 17 he’s top 3 talent wise. Some scouts have him ahead of Michkov. He’s all about skill, creativity and deception. He has to develop the rest of his game. Demidov should be over before Michkov since his deal with SKA ends in 25, a year after the draft. His recent knee injury which is supposed to keep him out for 2 months could cause him to drop. Minus that, can’t see him lower than #5.

I can see a top 10 selection, top 5 I don't see it with teams passing on him. I guess we shall see next summer.

They're currently under the cap. There's no reason to put Ellis on LTIR yet.

With a smirk, Danny Briere dubbed the Deslauriers - Poehling - Hathaway line the PhD line today. So that's a thing, apparently.

Free embroidered denim jackets for those who do. 'A new era of orange' with 'PhD' underneath and Gritty in a doctor's coat. |

I mean, he was good enough to get you a guy like Giroux. Then he went on to have a good year so… |

It has nothing to do with timing. It has to do with the Flyers cap position. They're under the upper limit.

Tortorella delayed and hurt Frost's development by not playing him in the right situations. It's interesting in that Tippett was one of the worst defensive forwards in his play away from the puck last season, yet he kept getting top ice time and PP time. I guess that is what Tortorella wanted out of him.
Again, you create your own reality that is completely void of what actually happened. Frost has persevered and conquered every road block put in his way. Including bad coaching and major injuries. Kept growing and getting better as a player. Kept moving forward. Your description of Frost's progression as a player is laughably inaccurate. - MJL
you really need to actually watch these games once in a while. preferably in person.
im not saying you need to love torts and i get why some dont, but if you dont think torts has been good for the org by demanding a rebuild and good for the players by playing the youth and holding the vets accountable then you need to hand in your hockey card and subject yourself to some deep counseling in places like sweden and swiss where drs sport long white coats and spend 14.5 hours a day with lab rats and color coded specimen jars.

I gotta agree with him. You seem to know a lot about the cap but from what I’ve seen your player evaluations aren’t your strong suit |
