There isn’t much to it. The younger you are, the more time you have to reach your potential NHL ceiling. The older you are, the shorter the runway to prove you can be an impact NHL player. Jett Woo is nearing the “is what he is” age, while McWard and Hirose are in their first year of pro hockey but do not have time on their side. McWard turns 23 in June, Hirose turns 25 in April, and Truscott will be 22 when he can be signed out of the NCAA. No spring chickens there, which ranks them lower on the “NHL potential rankings.”

I only caught 1 period of the insanity that was the CLB-FLA first period.

CLB needs a real coach. Should also just play out the next few years without doing much. A lot of good players that are going to need 5-7 before they are good together.

I just looked at the full schedule and Canucks only come to Winnipeg once this year and it's the very last game of the year.

Rumours of trying to trade him all off-season and Allvin says that they thought he was better under Foote and Gonchar, want to give them more time to work with him. Well it's panning out right now.

The question isn't whether the Canucks are going to regress hard. They will. They're not anywhere close to an elite team.

The question is whether they'll completely fall off a cliff, or just be the 2017-18 Flyers, a club absolutely carried by 5-6 players having monster years.

Yeah, there is about 8 teams that are currently going to "regress hard" if it's unsustainable.

You can maintain whatever you want, that team has been a cup threat the last three years. Hieskanen, Oettenger and Robertson are the real deal and they are an established team.

I dunno, I just don't see them having enough there to go all the way. They're in the top group of teams in the league, but I think there's 5 or so teams better than them.
