You're wrong on both counts. My opinion on Tortorella is accurate and is not based on emotion or any irrational thinking such as your disdain for non Flyers Philadelphia sports teams.

That's not true! I was actually happy when the Eagles beat the Patriots in 2018! Of course, a week later obnoxious Eagles fans were touting them as the next dynasty and it was back to not liking them again.

BTW, I like Jalen Hurts and the Eagles, they are one of the best teams in Football. I mean, you all could be the Patriots right now ...

In other news, I see that the Sharks are still winless on the season and have been outscored by a whopping 54-12!! Why does this give me a queasy feeling knowing that the Flyers play them next? A side note...the Sharks were also winless going into the Flyers game last year and they shut the Flyers out in that game. Whoops!

Hmmmm .. well anyway, getting back to hockey, Cutter Gauthier had another fine weekend. the kid has 8 goals and 10 points in 8 games this year so far for Boston College. He still looks like a winger so he will not solve the Flyers need for a 1C but I think barring any unforeseen problems, Cutter will be ready for the Flyers as early as this year. I'm already excited to see how the this roster will take shape for next year.

It's the defense that concerns me moving forward. yes the forwards need some work, but not like the d. Hopefully Bonk pans out, but we need more.

I agree, Bonk is a RHS defenseman but I don't project him to be a Quinn Hughes. Its clear to me the Flyers need a good PP QB on the backend who can also play defense. It's becoming more clear York is not going to be that guy unfortunately.

While he is not hughes, york imo will be more like Kimmo. but he is just 1. Travis has played better than i expected this year, the weight gains i'm sure has helped and the season in still young. We have a few young prospects, but none that are 1st line imo.

You're declaring unilaterally that there is no possibility that Gauthier can be a #1 center in the NHL?

Totally agree. I'd be spending 2 or 3 first rounders in this area this draft (I am expecting that we get another from trading assets at the TDL.

That would be center.

Though, I also believe he will be better served as a winger at the NHL level.

That's true, and they still would have only beaten ONE quality opponent by the skin of their teeth. Please don't count the Phins as a quality opponent. They are a fraud. They are 6-3 after losing to the Chiefs and the combined record of the teams that they have beaten is 7-30! They suck!

Saying this year’s team “sucks” is at the far end of negadelphianism. Their skill players are great, they have a strong OL and their defense is a bit of a project but bends without breaking too much. The combined records of their opponents is not something they control as they can only play who is on their schedule. The question is whether they can beat the 49ers. I have my doubts but also reason to believe. Some fans are only comfortable living on the ledge and you appear to be one of them. Stick with half empty, half full would be my recommendation.

Most of his goals are on the PP. In any of the clips, I have not seen anything to justify a #5 pick (no stickhandling, dangling, etc.), except a pretty damn good shot. Forester also has a damn good shot. One dimensional players give you what the Flyers are getting with Forester now....

I’m curious to know the thought process of still looks like a winger from JD If he is playing center. I saw a couple periods of play, he’s a beast on the Pp. He looked great on the wing in world juniors, probably better suited but I haven’t watched much BC

Premature to say that about Foerester. He's just going through growing pains. A work in progress.

his feet are a concern, getting stronger will help and you hope technique gets better but the pre-draft info was correct about his skating. It is not that he does not get there, just his feet when he does, time will tell.

How so? He’s kept up with pace just fine and he’s gotten into scoring areas with no problem, it’s more he just can’t finish right now

will cutter score the type of goals he scores in college at the NHL level? Cant see nhl level goalies allowing a lot of those in.

whats more likely cutter is the next JVR or a consistent all star level player?

That is something he can improve though. He has other skills you can’t teach.

I agree. He's certainly not a speedster but I don't see a skating issue. He just can't buy a goal. At 5 on 5, Foerster has the same number of individual scoring chances for as Travis Konency.

Has anyone had a chance to watch Devin Kaplan at BU? I see he has 7 pts in 8 games.

And why would the Flyers need any help on the PP?
