GMDB, with Torts’ permission of course, needs to pick up the phone and call Ken Holland right now and dangle Hart out there. Edmonton is a high octane dumpster fire because they have no goalies and their defense is pitiful. Time to show the world what a real rebuild is. Strike now while Edmonton still has time to salvage their hopes. Make up their 11 and 9 point deficits to LA and Anaheim.
Target Holloway and Broberg and target prospects Petrov and Bourgault. Edmonton needs to take advantage of its window. Hart and maybe Walker would help Edmonton who has to win now. And Ken Holland is a moron almost of Fletcher proportions. He’s a doofus and a ruiner of franchises.
Please Torts, please let Danny come out and try to play GM. |

if i am trading hart I wait a little unless the oilers make too good an offer. Other teams will need a goalie as well.

oilers would have to do something about their cap. that would be adding over 6 mil for them.

Flyers would have to retain salary or take another contract back.

Saying this year’s team “sucks” is at the far end of negadelphianism. Their skill players are great, they have a strong OL and their defense is a bit of a project but bends without breaking too much. The combined records of their opponents is not something they control as they can only play who is on their schedule. The question is whether they can beat the 49ers. I have my doubts but also reason to believe. Some fans are only comfortable living on the ledge and you appear to be one of them. Stick with half empty, half full would be my recommendation. - iamscore2day Learn how to read dude. I didn't say that the Eagles suck. I said that the DOLPHINS suck! However, you are correct in that I do tend to only be comfortable living on the edge. I mean, I'm not gonna say an 8-1 team sucks even though I have doubts about their credibility.

I’m curious to know the thought process of still looks like a winger from JD If he is playing center. I saw a couple periods of play, he’s a beast on the Pp. He looked great on the wing in world juniors, probably better suited but I haven’t watched much BC - ClaudeFather
Mostly because he has good offensive instincts, explosive through the neutral zone, has an accurate and hard shot, and has a shoot first mentality. For these reasons, I think he will be better at wing than center. Why hold him back with added defensive responsibilities, just let him take the puck to the net and score.
So far I have watched two BC games live and one on NESN and in each game the BC forward that drives the play the most is Ryan Leonard. Leonard and Gauthier do play on the PP together along with Smith and Perreault, so it's a pretty potent PP. |

his feet are a concern, getting stronger will help and you hope technique gets better but the pre-draft info was correct about his skating. It is not that he does not get there, just his feet when he does, time will tell. - wcorvette
Foerster has the same problem right now that Tippet has, he does not have an accurate shot. But this is something that can be developed with practice and time. |

And why would the Flyers need any help on the PP? - atibus
We can only hope Rocky is long gone by the time Gauthier gets here. His PP setups are comically bad. Frost at netfront, really?
And somehow Farabee only has 2 PPP in the 94 games of the Thompson era. |

Thanks, I don’t necessarily think those things you’ve listed warrant him being a winger over center but he’s shown to be a very capable winger in the past. Clearly being center at BC has not held him back |

How so? He’s kept up with pace just fine and he’s gotten into scoring areas with no problem, it’s more he just can’t finish right now - ClaudeFather
I agree he gets there, and pace is not it, just clunky with his feet, which could work itself out as he gets stronger and learns how to use his body better, but I think part of the reason his shots are not going in is related to his skating, he gets there, then he seems to be off balance, could be his technique or could be just need to time to learn, probably and little of both.

Their issue is not shot accuracy. Tippett scored 27 goals last season. He's just snakebit. When that happens, players tend to try and make a perfect shot and pick corners rather than just get the puck on net.

Little bit of irony, if the Flyers pick around 10 in the upcoming draft, Adam Jiricek is in that range. |

Frost as the net front guy is a serious red flag that this dude has no clue as to where to station the players on the PP. They also look discombobulated quite often. |

Man. That would be a great duo. Campbell and petersen. 10 mil a year for two ahl goalies. |

My point is Gauthier is a shoot first winger more than a playmaking center. He does have good vision and can pass the puck, but his best asset is his quick release and accurate shot. If anything, his 5v5 linemates have held him back more than anything else. If Gauthier replaced Perrault on the Smith line with Leonard, look out! |

Ryan Leonard, you mean the guy the Flyers should have drafted? - Phillywhiteout
It's tough to watch sometimes. Where Smith is more low key and always seems to be in the right spot, Leonard is a visible threat every time he is on the ice. Perreault is also a thread on some shifts, but Leonard is just a step or two above. But I like Gauthier also, he is also a threat almost every time he is on the ice, and he has grit in his game for sure. He uses his size and is not afraid to wipe you out. That tackle he made against Denver may have cost BC the game, but it was awesome .. totally awesome!! |

The best combo is players with skill that can play a physical game cause as we see every year you better have some grit to your game come playoff time!
