But he also barely played at even strength on the night. Sure the Canucks had a mountain of power plays, but in a game like this one, you’d expect Tocchet to lean heavily on him.

Pettersson played just 18:05 on the night — only 9:55 at five on five, second lowest on the team after Andrei Kuzmenko — and generated very little in that time.

Often when things have gone this wrong the last thing the GM is asked to do before he's fired is dismiss the coach. Ideally the new GM will want his own guy.

It does have a temp coach feel to it. I suspect Holland is done.
