Maybe. We'll see how 36/37 year old JTM looks skating around there at 8 mil in a few years.
- NewYorkNuck

He keeps getting better every season and is remarkably durable. He will age fine. Hughes has 3 .5 more seasons on his dirt cheap contract. That’s our window anyways.

I know for myself it had a lot of similarities of what the old regime was doing. There are a lot of comparisons between the Hronek and JTM trade. On both occasions most of us are being proven wrong and are turning out to be core piece trades.

There is another big trade coming later this year you can put it in the bank. I will try not to scream at it and realize the people in charge do know more than me and Kman.

- VANTEL

I loved the trade at the time but I was already a Hronek fan and never thought Yzerman would deal him.

With Benning, some good, lots bad. Allvin is a little less shaky so far. Still time though.

As this tweet says from this random. At first I'd probably say no thanks. Then I would calm down and say ahh maybe Hoglander for Tanev wouldn't be a bad trade.

I would definitely not want to lose the Canucks 1st round pick unless it's for a center under 24. I also wouldn't trade Lekkerimaki, D-Petey, Willander, Brzustewicz, Bains.

If they could make a trade to upgrade a bottom pair D with someone like Linus Karlsson or Nils Aman.

- manvanfan

Agree with everything.

I do like Suter as a 3C. Canucks do need one more top 4 D and an energy guy. Not very impressed with Joshua but do not hate him either.

Buffalo with the injury to Thompson just had a fwd spot open up and a little more $$$ to spend.
- manvanfan

Sounds right but Buffalo is not a contender so it would depend on how important winning is.

Everyone keeps getting better until they don't. Generally players don't keep getting better after 30/32. We'll see.

And agree on our window... but that still doesn't make those last few years of the Miller contract great. Lots can happen at that point, no need stressing about it now

People like to think they were happy with the trade. They generally weren't (myself included)

- NewYorkNuck

There are not very many in here that have had a positive attitude towards the management and the players on the team, I could probably count them on one hand, and it is one. The same one guy that has to ask, was Demko letting in 3 expected for or against, having 3 Canucks leading in scoring expected or against.

BTW, they're not this good, not even close,

Joshua has had moments. Joshua- Suter- Garland has controlled play a lot but hasn't seen results as much as they should.

If they want to go full cup contenders, another top 4 D would be smart. They paid that price for one last year already though. Would it be smart to do it again?

If they could find someone like a Josh Manson and pay a 2nd in 25 and Jacob Truscott.

OR sign Ethan Bear.

Buffalo is having some troubles this season, so the fit would seem a bit odd.

I hope Buffalo doesn't go all crazy and just keeps building. I like that roster, it's just very young. Once that roster matures in a couple years, they should be good.

Not Bear. Need better.

I think within two years the Canucks will have at least 2 D prospects making the club. I don't see Willander taking more than two and one of DPetey or someone will also be seeing a roster spot. So I would be okay with looking for another Hronek type deal this year.

I know it is a short time frame of games so far, but Canucks look like they have a fair amount of scoring power and a winger like Kuzmenko could be a very big trade chip if they wanted to keep their first round pick. I think he would bring back a nice haul and Likkermaki looks to be another player on the horizon.

Update on this: The NHL has corrected the speed of this shot on NHL Edge, and it is now registered as 100.37 mph. Still pretty damn hard.

Just when you think the Canucks are ready to fall, they come out smelling like roses. What a goal by Hughes!
Should be no problem with the Flames tonight.

Tyler Myers has as many goals as Jonathan Huberdeau.

Hopefully he uses it more. We haven't had a bomb like that since Salo.

Start buying and buying, going to need to start selling sooner or later or as Jim did watch the contracts expire and just run out of time I hope we don't go down that road again.

Hard to imagine right now as the team is rolling along pretty good, making big changes.

Friedman can have the night off then.

In those first few games that Friedman played, I thought he was rather okay. Maybe I had shiny new toy eyes but I feel as if his play has dropped off since.

It's same as Juulsen from last year to this year though, it's as if he is a completely different player Last year okay, this year poop.

- manvanfan

Juulsen sucked then and has continued to suck this year.

I really like Kuz but what type of contract will he want? I see it as distributing the cap space where needed. Canucks can use another Grade A Dman.

No, I'm just bustin your balls because you believe in that poop, Dom's an idiot and still trying to double down but slowly reversing his original poor expected predictions, could you say he is "regressing".

I didn't even notice Sorokin was more worried about Kuzmenko than where the puck was/the play. Gained a little more respect for him.
